Chapter 838

Back on Liberty Ind, Warren returned to the castle and immediately began tearing through their bedroom, frantically searching for something.

"My Lord, what are you looking for?" the servants asked timidly, terrified by his frantic state.

They had heard that theirdy was finally cured, but with a side effect: she remembered everyone except for their boss.

"Where is the ne I gave Celine for her eighteenth birthday?" Warren demanded as he continued to search.

When Celine woke up, she remembered her siblings from over a decade ago and the little details of their family life. When Ebony Fox had asked if she remembered anyone else, he had clung to a sliver of hope. Even if she didn''t remember himpletely, he''d prayed for at least a glimmer of recognition.

But no. Celine had truly forgotten him entirely. In that moment, his feet had frozen. He suddenly lost the courage to go inside, terrified of the nk stare she might give him, even more terrified that she mighte to hate the stranger he had be to her.

To win her back, he needed a little help.

"A ne?" The servants were bewildered but quickly joined the search. Although theirdy''s intellect had been impaired, she was always cunningly clever in her own way. She hid her own things in such secret ces that even they had trouble finding them.

After a thorough search, they found nothing. Warren paused, his eyesnding on the wedding portrait hanging on the wall. A flicker of inspiration struck him. He thought he knew where it was.

He pushed open the door to the greenhouse-Celine''s private sanctuary, where only he was allowed to enter. His gaze immediately fell upon a locked box.

Standing before it, Warren contemted thebination. The girl had a unique way of thinking; a random guess wouldn''t work.

After a moment of thought, he ced his fingers on the lock and entered a code: 0729. The day they first met, which was also their wedding day, and the date he hadter designated as her birthday. For him, nothing in life was more fortunate than meeting her.

    "Click."

    The lock sprang open.

A small smile touched Warren''s lips as he lifted the lid. The box was filled to the brim. Inside were all the gifts he had ever given her, their wedding photos, and the pictures they took on every anniversary.

Looking at the radiant smile of the girl in the photos, Warren''s own smile deepened. But as he looked, a familiar ache spread to his throat and stung his eyes. Betrayed and abandoned by his own family from a young age it was meeting Celine that had breathed life back into him. Over the years, he had grown ustomed to a life with her in it. If she didn''t want him anymore... Warren felt he might not be able to go on. He couldn''t let that happen.

Gathering the mementos of their love, Warren rushed back to Era City without a moment''s dy. The distance was great; even at top speed, the journey would take at least five hours.

Warren gently stroked the face of the girl in the photograph, his heart aching. What was Celine doing without him? Was she unhappy? Or... was she happy?

For the next two days, Celine remained at the institute for observation. Juniper came to a single conclusion: there was nothing wrong with Celine at all. She had simply forgotten Warren.

Tsk. Her brother-inw, Warren, really had it rough!

That evening, Celine was in the living room chatting with Juniper, mentioning the other sister they had yet to find.

“I''m sure she''s fine,” Celine said, munching happily on a bag of chips. Her eyes crinkled with a smile; she was in a remarkably good mood.
