Were they seeing things? Was the boss''s personal assistant actually groveling before Specter?
Not only had he not killed her, but he was letting her and her subordinate go? What was happening?
"What are you all staring at?" Flint snapped, meeting his subordinates'' astonished gazes. He ran a hand through his hair and barked, "Are you deaf? Everyone back off and clear a path."
Though confused, the men obediently parted to let them through.
"Bring that yacht over here to take Specter and Mr. Langley back," Flint continued tomand.
Take them back? The boss had gone to so much trouble to finally capture Specter. They were on the verge of eliminating her, so how could they just let her go? Could Flint have betrayed them without the boss knowing?
It seemed usible. They all knew how much their boss hated Specter; he would never tolerate one of his own men being so deferential.
Just as the men were mulling over this, their leader, d in a ck shirt and with a dark expression, strode out with long, quick steps.
"Do you have a car waiting for you on shore?" Shanley walked directly to Juniper''s side, avoiding her eyes as he spoke in a soft, gentle voice. "Should I arrange one for you?"
The men were shocked. Why was the boss acting like this too? His tone was as gentle as if he were talking to a young girl. But this was Specter, his mortal enemy, a man he had fought countless times.
More importantly, Specter was a man. Their boss was speaking to another man with such a soft voice and a gentle expression? It was beyond creepy.
Could the rumors be true? Was the boss actually into men, and had he developed a soft spot for the "handsome" Specter?
It was the only exnation they could think of.
"Not necessary," Juniper replied, her back still to him. With those words, she leaped onto the yacht.
Then, right in front of all of Sigma Network''s men, Specter and Lue calmly departed from the restricted zone and sailed safely back into Subterra Vanguard''s waters.
"Everyone, disperse," Flint ordered
the bewildered men. He didn''t know how to begin exining, so he just said, "I''m pretty confused myself. As for why... you all find out eventually"
“And another thing,” he added after a pause. “From now on, when you see anyone from Subterra Vanguard, be polite."
The men just grew more and more confused.
Meanwhile, aboard a Subterra Vanguard vessel, the crew had gathered, frantically nning how to rescue Specter and their second-inmand.
In the midst of their anxious discussion, they suddenly spotted a Sigma Network yacht heading in their direction.
"Alert! Sigma Network approaching," someone called out coldly.
"Wait a second," another member said, blinking in disbelief. "The people on that yacht... they look like Specter and Lue."
"How is that possible?" The others were quick to dismiss the idea. "Sigma Network finally caught Specter. They''d have to be insane to just let them go.” "No, it really is Specter!"
At those words, the crew rushed to the deck, their eyes wide with astonishment. It was Specter. And Lue. It was really them!
What happened? There had been no sound of an explosion. How could they have possibly escaped?
"Lower your weapons!" Seeing her subordinates aiming their guns like they were facing a major threat, tue quickly waved, a broad smile on his face. "It''s fine, it''s all fine!"
Fine? The men exchanged uncertain nces before cautiously lowering their weapons and moving forward. No one had a clue what was going on.
"Boss," one of the men said as Specter safely boarded their ship The crew swarmed around her, all talking at once. "That old bastard from Sigma Network he didnt give you any trouble, did he?
