?Chapter 1053:
Elena’s eyes darkened in shock. Organ trafficking? She’d thought she’d wiped out the organ traffickingwork. How could it still be happening? She moved toward the bed, and the grim reality hit her—just as Charlette described, Tucker’s body had been gutted, his organs gone.
“That man is a monster,” Elena said, her voice thick with disgust. “Someone like him doesn’t deserve to live.” It struck her how some people could be worse than animals. At least animals protected their young. This man, however, had sold his own flesh-and-blood son without a second thought.
With gentle hands, Elena gathered Tucker’s body and wrapped him up. “Let’s give him a proper burial. Maybe in his next life, he’ll find a real family.”
Afterying Tucker to rest, Elena filled Ellis and Charlette in on her earlier fight against the organ traffickingwork.
Ellis looked worried. “Promise me you won’t go after those people by yourself again.”
Elena’s expression hardened as she nodded firmly. “Clearly, I didn’t finish the jobst time. Those monsters are still out there.” The fact that the illegal trade was still running, so openly, made her blood boil.
Elena continued, “When I was digging before, I found a few leads but never followed them up. This time, I’m going to trace every clue and make sure the whole ring goes down.”
Ellis asked, “What sort of leads do you have?”
“A person might be tied to all of this,” Elena replied, her tone sharpening.
“Who is it?” Ellis pressed.
A chill settled in Elena’s eyes. “N.”
Elena had heard those traffickers mention some Dr. Vance, and her gut told her N was the one at the center of it all. The rest of the traffickers stayed hidden, but…
N was right out in the open. If they kept tabs on her, the whole operation might finally unravel.
“I’ll go get N here,” Charlette dered as she straightened up.
Before Charlette could move, Elena extended her hand to stop her. “Hold on. If you drag N over now, they’ll know we’re onto them. N’s just a front—it’s the power behind her that matters. We need to keep an eye on her to trace her back to the ring,” she said, her voice steady.

The urge to avenge Tucker burned in Charlette’s chest, but she recognized the wisdom in Elena’s n. She nodded. “Still, with just us three, we might not be able to pull it off.”
Elena had already thought things over. “I’ll talk to Kason. He’s got people. He’ll know who to send.” As a major general, Kason had plenty of resources at his disposal. Since all of this was happening practically under the nose of the Azure Dragon Unit Base, it was his responsibility to handle the matter. Once everyone was on the same page, the trio left for the base without further discussion.
Elena turned down Ellis’s offer to go with her to talk to Kason, choosing instead to approach him alone.
Ellis walked Charlette back to the estate. He looked like he wanted to say something, but Charlette marched inside without a nce back.
Elena found herself in Kason’s office, recounting every detail of the past few days.
Kason managed to keep a calm front, but inside, he was stunned. That fire had actually been Elena’s doing. She had slipped into the organ trafficking ring on her own, taken it apart from the inside, and shut it down—all without backup. That was impressive. Even he would’ve struggled to pull that off. His appreciation for her grew. In his eyes, she belonged in a league of her own. Had she been in his ce, she would’ve easily ascended into higher ranks than a major general.
