Chapter 973

    ?Chapter 973:

That was Wesley’s breaking point. In one swift motion, he scooped her up and set her on the table, hands gripping her waist possessively. Without warning, his mouth found hers—hot, firm, and full of longing. He wasn’t content with a simple kiss. He deepened it, breaking her lips apart, teasing her tongue, leaving her dizzy and breathless. The sudden intensity left Elena stunned, and in the blink of an eye, he had her pressed t against the table.

A sharp metallic sound followed—a zipper being undone. Wesley’s hand hovered at his waistband, intent clear.

Desperately, Elena tried to push him away, her hands pressed to his chest. But Wesley swallowed her protest with another fierce kiss, leaving her silent and shaken.

Wesley was rock hard, urgent, and on the edge of losing all restraint.

Just as he was about to thrust into her, a loud knock shattered the moment.

“Mr. Spencer, your grandfather wants a word,” Arion called out from behind the door.

At once, Wesley froze, every muscle tensing in frustration. Taking advantage of the interruption, Elena managed to steady herself and sit up.

Wesley shot an irritated re at the door, but Arion remained oblivious as he continued, “He’s asking for you at the Spencer Manor.”

Wesley’s frustration was evident, but he didn’t argue. Instead, he quickly put his clothes back on. Brushing his thumb over the dampness on Elena’s lips, his eyes still stormy, he said, “I’ll let you off easy, for now.”

Without another word, Wesley headed for the door, his icyposure firmly back in ce.

Arion flinched under Wesley’s cold stare, finally realizing he’d stepped in at the worst possible moment. “Uh, Mr. Spencer…” he began, flustered.

Wesley cut him off with a sharp “Save it. Let’s go.”

He swept past, heading down the stairs while Arion rushed to keep up.

Meanwhile, Elena straightened her rumpled clothes, her skin still tingling from Wesley’s touch.

Scarface was already in the. If Wesley left the Azure Dragon Unit Base now, their paths could cross.

Not wasting a second, Elena sent a quick message to Nightshade, urging him to head straight to Spencer Manor. This time, the reply was immediate and brief: “Got it.”

With any hope of sleep long gone, Elena opened herptop and began drafting her ideas for a new weapon system she had in mind. She workedte into the night, pushing herself until exhaustion finally took over. By morning, sunlight filtered in, but Wesley still hadn’t returned.

Once back at Spencer Manor, Wesley found Gerald seated stiffly in the living room. His expression was unreadable, but the severity in his demeanor was unmistakable.

Sinking into the armchair across from Gerald, Wesley crossed one leg over the other and asked, “Grandpa, what’s the emergency? You called me back like the world was ending.”

A sharp scoff escaped Gerald’s lips. “I thought you’d forgotten about me. If I hadn’t called you, would you have ever shown your face here again?”

One brow arched, Wesley answered coolly, “It’s just the packed schedule keeping me from returning.”

Gerald’s re deepened. “You’ve been avoiding thepany like the gue, disappearing off to the Azure Dragon Unit Base as if it’s a resort. Have you forgotten you’re supposed to be leading the Spencer Group?”
