?Chapter 935:
Saw her in a mask and hat. She even slipped out through a separate exit so no one would recognize her.”
Glenn’s brows drew together as he processed her words. Secrecy had always been part of the Healer’s identity. No one could even say for sure what she looked like.
Noticing the suspicion still etched across the room, N decided to go further. “Glenn, the Healer didn’t just show up by chance today. I invited her.”
“You invited the Healer?” Glenn gasped, stunned into stillness.
Silence fell over the crowd. The same people who had been condemning her seconds earlier now stood frozen, unable to believe what they had just heard. Pulling the Healer into a situation like this wasn’t something an average doctor could do. It spoke to a connection far deeper than anyone had realized.
N’s voice remained even. “I wasn’t feeling well this morning, and I didn’t want Deputy Commander Aston’s condition to get any worse because of it. So, before I came in, I reached out to her and asked if she could handle the surgery. I mean, think about it—how else would she have ended up in the OR?”
One by one, the pieces started to fall into ce for those listening. Of course. The Healer wouldn’t have appeared out of nowhere unless someone had called her in. They had jumped to the wrong conclusion.
Understanding flickered in Glenn’s eyes, softening the sharp edge of his earlier doubt. The tension in his posture eased as he turned back to N.
“I owe you an apology, N,” he said, his tone gentler now. “I judged too quickly. I didn’t know you’d go that far—or that you could even contact her.” His gaze turned appreciative. “Deputy Commander Aston made it through thanks to you. But what about you—how are you holding up? If you need time to rest, take it. Also, the deputy director role is still avable. Whenever you’re ready, the position is yours.”
N moved swiftly up the ranks, going from attending physician to deputy director, and no one voiced a single objection since they firmly believed she was the Healer’s disciple.
A flicker of surprise passed through N’s eyes, though she remained calm andposed. “I’m okay, Glenn. Thank you.”
Glenn, clearly pleased with her, gave her shoulder a firm, encouraging tap. “Soak up everything you can from the Healer. You’re headed for great things.”

Once Lamont stabilized after surgery, he was relocated to a standard hospital room.
After a while, N and Lucinda stepped out of the elevator, their eyesnding on Elena across the lobby.
Lucinda immediately called out, “Elena!”
Elena had already removed her surgical mask and cap, reverting to her everyday appearance. She paused briefly before turning in their direction.
Lucinda beamed as sheunched into her brag. “When did you sneak down here? You missed your chance. The Healer was here for Deputy Commander Aston’s surgery, all thanks to N’s invitation. That kind of opportunity doesn’te around often.”
Lucinda strode up to Elena, eyes gleaming with arrogance as she gave Elena a quick, judgmental once-over. “You missed the only real shot you had to meet the Healer. Let’s be honest, someone like you probably never will. We’re lucky to be connected to N. She’s the Healer’s disciple. The only reason the Healer even came was because of her.” Her words sharpened as she pressed on. “The Healer holds N in the highest regard. She’s got talent, unlike you. Take away your looks, and what’s left? You’ve got nothing. Yet, you still act like you deserve things that were never yours to begin with. You don’t even see how far beneath her you really are.”
Elena’s face changed subtly as she looked in N’s direction. So, N had imed the Healer hade because of her invitation? N certainly had a knack for twisting situations to suit herself.
