?Chapter 934:
Only then did N exhale, barely audible, as the weight pressing on her lungs began to ease.
The mood in the hall turned restless, the crowd exchanging hushed, frustrated whispers.
“Why’d the Healer disappear like that?”
“I thought we’d finally get to see her up close…”
Suddenly, Carlton’s voice rang out, sharp with urgency. “Move! Somebody get to the ground floor—she couldn’t have gone far!”
Annoyance flickered across N’s face as she muttered under her breath, her irritation surfacing like smoke.
With a moreposed tone, Glenn raised a hand to stop themotion. “She exited through a different door. Clearly, she values her anonymity. Let’s honor that.”
Despite a visible wave of hesitation, the crowd didn’t protest.
Just as the tension began to fade from the room, Glenn suddenly swiveled toward a shadowed corner, where N stood, half-obscured by the wall. His gaze sharpened, and his voice cut through the silence. “N, exin something—why did you tell us the Healer was an elderly man?”
“Are you even connected to the Healer at all?” Glenn asked, his gaze narrowing with suspicion. Doubt had taken root. He couldn’t believe someone truly mentored by the Healer wouldn’t even know such a basic fact—that the Healer was a young woman, not an elderly man.
As his words hung in the air, the rest of the room began piecing it together. Yesterday, N had repeatedly referred to the Healer as a “he.” But just now, they’d all seen the truth for themselves. The Healer was clearly not the elderly man N had described, but a young woman with unmistakable presence.
The crowd voiced their displeasure at N’s audacity in spewing nonsense.
“N, why’d you tell us the Healer was some old guy?”
“You don’t actually know the Healer, do you? You made it all up, didn’t you?”

“You really thought none of us would ever meet the Healer, huh? Figured it was safe to fake the whole disciple thing?”
“Knowledge can be passed down, but integrity? That’s not something you can borrow.”
“Seriously, iming to be the Healer’s disciple just to look important? That’s low.”
“Someone like that has no ce in this hospital. We don’t need liars ying doctor.”
Anger rose like a wave, crashing through the room. Voices sharpened, and every pair of eyes seemed to burn with fury. Out of everyone N could have imed to know, she chose the Healer—the most esteemed figure in the field, almost a legend in their own right. No one would tolerate such tant disrespect.
But N wasn’t flustered. Even with the room turning on her, she stood tall, steadying herself with the exnation she had already formed in her mind in the few minutes that had passed. From the shadowed corner, she stepped forward and spoke with quiet resolve. “I didn’t lie, Glenn.”
“You’re still holding onto that story?” Glenn shot back, voice tight with disbelief. “We all saw the truth. You gonna act like we imagined it? What do you take us for?”
Despite the heat in the room, N stayedposed. Her voice remained steady, untouched by the anger that surrounded her. Lifting her chin with calm resolve, she said, “I didn’t make anything up. When I referred to the Healer as an elderly gentleman yesterday, I was honoring her request. She didn’t want anyone to know who she was or draw attention to herself. That’s why I gave that description. You all—
