Chapter 878

    ?Chapter 878:

After a moment of hesitation, Felix ventured a question, his voice low, “Mr. Spencer, should we proceed to deploy Abyss Cell?”

This time, Elena had truly pissed Wesley off. Wesley had intended to mobilize Abyss Cell, an elite unit, for this very scenario—yet she proceeded with the rescue mission without consulting him.

Wesley had painstakingly established Abyss Cell as a formidable, secret force, operational worldwide and reserved for the most critical situations. It was his trump card, and he had been ready to employ it. However, Elena didn’t bother to wait for him to act.

Felix stole a nce at Wesley, whose face was stormy with fury, half-expecting him to decide against involving Abyss Cell.

Contrary to Felix’s expectations, Wesley instructed coldly, “Inform Arion to extract the hostages and ensure Elena’s safety. Any harm to her, and he’ll be held ountable.”

Despite his anger, Wesley’s directive reaffirmed his priorities—Elena’s safety remained paramount.

Upon receiving Wesley’smands, Arion Fuller, the leader of Abyss Cell, was instantly alert and intrigued.

Felix and Arion had started working for Wesley at the same time—Felix taking the public-facing roles, while Arion worked behind the scenes. Still, both had always…

Arion answered only to Wesley, and from the beginning, Abyss Cell had been directly under hismand. Arion had spent years based in Avaloria, assuming their first overt operation would involvebating Shadow, not protecting a woman. Despite the unexpected nature of the task, he raised no objections to Wesley’s orders. He promptly contacted his team to initiate mission preparations.

Elena had no idea that Wesley had activated his top-secret asset for her protection. She skillfully maneuvered the helicopter, nding in a secluded area in Avaloria.

Upon touchdown, Lydia retrieved a dagger from her leg sheath and handed it to Elena, advising, “This de is exceptionally sharp. Keep it with you at all times.”

The dagger had been Lydia’s trustedpanion for many years. Today, she entrusted it to Elena, who epted it without hesitation.

With a mask concealing her identity, Lydia blended into the local scene, positioning herself strategically while waiting for Elena to enter the base and for the opportune moment to intervene.

Elena made her way directly toward Shadow’s headquarters. It seemed Earle had anticipated her arrival. As soon as she reached the front entrance, a person was already there, waiting to escort her. The fa?ade of the Shadow base was deceptively grandiose, resembling avish estate from centuries past—an unlikely front for a deadly assassinwork.

Elena was led to a primary building and left outside the entrance. Standing at the doorway, she was greeted by a teasing voice from above. “Well, well. Look who’s here. My fiery rose.”

Tilting her head back, Elena caught sight of Earle leaning against the second-floor balcony, azy smile tugging at his lips. His emerald eyes locked onto her with a chilling sharpness.

Noticing her gaze, Earle gave a casual wave. “Didn’t I promise we would meet again? Well, here we are.”
