Chapter 836

    ?Chapter 836:

Feigning desperation, Sylvia leaned in. “Mom, I can’t go to jail. I still need to earn money—for you. Elena won’t take care of you, and now she’s trying to stop me from caring for you. She’s gone too far.”

Each passing second only fueled Cecily’s rage. With a sharp thud, she mmed her fist against the table. “Not while I’m still breathing! Let’s see that little snake try anything!”

Fueled by fury, Cecily didn’t wait another moment. She stormed out, gged the nearest cab, and sped off toward the—her destination clear: Hillside Manor.

Cecily wasn’t new to pulling stunts like this. Back when she basked in wealth after marrying into money, she had shamelessly demanded cash as if it were owed to her. With her fortune dried up, she had only grown louder and more brazen.

The moment the security guard at the entrance blocked her path, she exploded into a fit of curses, her voice echoing across the gatedmunity. Throwing her hands to the sky and then pounding her chest, she shouted, “Gods above, look at this! That heartless Elena is driving me to my grave! I can’t take it anymore!”

Hillside Manor was an esteemed vimunity, inhabited by individuals of notable wealth and power. An incident like this had never urred there before.

Cecily’s loud outburst soon drew a crowd, as she continually yelled Elena’s name with great force.

A woman in fine attire stopped and looked at thedy beside her. “Elena? Is she the one the Harper family recently brought back?” The other woman, who regrly joined Samira for brunch, gave a knowing nod. “That’s the one. I recall Samira bringing her up. What kind of mess is brewing between her and this woman for her name to be pulled into something like this?”

As Cecily overheard someone mention Elena, she increased the volume of her voice. Facing the growing crowd, she cried out, “Ladies, can you believe it—someone would actually wish harm on the very ones who raised her! After caring for Elena for over twenty years, is this really how she chooses to repay me? She’s not just heartless. She’s trying to drive me to the brink! How is that even fair? I don’t care how wealthy the Harper family might be—Elena doesn’t get to act however she wants without consequences. Doesn’t she have a shred of conscience?”

“I must say, she’s lying! She’s managed tond my husband in prison, and now she’s targeting my life! However, she will not seed—karma always catches up!”

    ???????????????? ??????????????: ?????????ν??????﹒?????

Cecily’s tone was sharp and forceful, her hands clenched in fists and her feet stomping as if she faced the worst betrayal.

A number of the women in the crowd were mothers too. Upon hearing Cecily’s ims, they wasted no time turning their judgment toward Elena.

“What is happening with the Harper family? How could they just sit back and allow this?”

“To push those who raised her to such extremes—how cruel!”

“It’s shocking that such things still ur nowadays.”

“If that girl’s truly this cruel, then I’m making sure my daughter stays nowhere near her. I won’t let someone like that have any kind of influence on my child.”

“Parenting is a tough job. To receive such ungratefulness in return is heartbreaking.”

As soon as Samira emerged from her car, she was drawn to the gathering at the gate, driven by curiosity. “What is happening here? Why is there such a crowd?” she asked.
