Chapter 815

    ?Chapter 815:

“That’s right. This is a ce to learn—not a courtroom for judgment,” Moises said firmly, his tone making it clear Sylvia and the reporters had overstayed their wee. Sylvia had wasted a great deal of time with her ridiculous charade, and he resolved not to let this drag on and take the ce of what had been scheduled for his lecture.

Bringing in Moises for a lecture hadn’t been easy, and now an inte celebrity had hijacked it, leaving the the University students justifiably furious.

Under a wave of judgmental stares, Sylvia slipped out with the reporters, her posture stiff with shame and defeat.

After the lecture wrapped up, Moises joined Elena and Ellis for dinner. Moises asked if Elena needed backup—he’d dly testify for her if she wanted.

Elena gave a quiet smile and shook her head. “Professor Haywood, you’ve already done more than enough.”

Elena had her own n for handling the situation. Sylvia thought she was being clever, dragging in reporters and livestreaming the scene, throwing her academic record into question in front of an online audience. In the end, all Sylvia did was make things easier for her. Plus, what Moises said carried more weight than anything she could’ve exined on her own. There was nothing left to defend.

After parting ways with Moises, Elena and Ellis made their way home. During the ride, Ellis, remaining silent, cast a sideways nce at his sister. He still couldn’t quite believe it—Elena had earned her doctorate from Imperial University and even…

Elena had graduated as an Honorary Graduate. As someone who worked in research and traveled internationally, Ellis understood exactly how rare and meaningful that title was. It was the highest academic honor Imperial University could offer—something very few would ever attain.

And now, Ellis saw his sister for what she truly was—exceptional.

Noticing his stare, Elena turned toward him. “What is it, Ellis?”

She was slightly puzzled. Did she have something on her face? Ellis looked away. “You don’t have to handle everything alone. You could let the family take care of things—like Louis does.”

This time, the scandal was on everyone’s lips, the rumors swirling faster than anyone could track. But once the Harper Group’swyers sent out formal legal warnings, the swarm of reporters and gossip pages chasing Louis fell silent almost instantly. Elena, though, had handled everything on her own from the beginning.

Ellis hadn’t meant it as a criticism. His voice was steady, but underneath was a soft thread of concern.

Elena had always managed her problems without leaning on others. And her family had always respected her decision. Even Jeffry and Louis had stepped back and left the matter in her hands once she said she had it under control. Strangely, it was Ellis—usually the quiet one—who urged her to let the family take over.

Elena paused, wondering if she’d distanced herself too much—was that why it hadn’t urred to her to ask her family for help? After a thoughtful beat, she nodded. “I understand, Ellis.”

Ellis answered with a nod and passed her a bottle of water.
