Chapter 814

    ?Chapter 814:

Turning to the reporters for help, Sylvia searched their faces for backup, but none came. One even rolled his eyes in full view of the camera, clearly regretting tagging along.

Even without knowing much about Imperial University, Sylvia could tell from the stares and reactions that she had said something disastrously wrong. In a moment, her confident facade started to crack.

In a desperate bid to recover, Sylvia switched tactics. “Okay, maybe Elena went to some university, but that doesn’t excuse giarism. Stealing someone else’s work is still wrong. I’ve already sent the evidence to that mystery author, Helena. Elena, I’m doing this for you. I just want you to admit your mistakes and make things right.” Sylvia stared at Elena with an expression of false sympathy, as though every word she spoke was meant for Elena’s sake.

In Sylvia’s mind, it didn’t matter whether Elena had attended college or not—giarism was still giarism. Once Helena, the famous author, reviewed the supposed evidence, she would surely expose Elena. That moment would be worth watching!

Sylvia couldn’t help but feel pleased with herself, missing the cryptic look in Elena’s eyes.

Elena sneered. Sylvia imed to have sent the evidence to Helena? That was strange. Why hadn’t she received anything?

With a slight lift of her brow, Elena asked coolly, “Is that so? Are you absolutely certain you sent it to Helena?”

The question, calm and precise, made Sylvia pause. But she quickly brushed off her doubt, assuming Elena was bluffing. Still, something didn’t sit right. Why wasn’t Elena panicking? Why wasn’t she even slightly defensive?

Straightening her shoulders, Sylvia replied with certainty, “Of course I did. Look, I know you’re upset, but this is about ountability. Reporting you was the right thing to do. I’m doing this for your own good.”

Elena had long known Sylvia wore a sweet face in public while plotting in private. Still, she hadn’t expected Sylvia to be this shameless.

From the side, Ellis finally stepped in, his tone sharp and cold. “Stop pretending you are close to Elena. And spare us the fake concern.” He’d had enough of Sylvia’s constant act. His tolerance was wearing thin.

Stunned, Sylvia went silent for a second, scrambling for a response.

Ellis didn’t give her the chance. “Whether giarism happened or not isn’t up to you. If you’ve got something solid, take it to the proper channels. This isn’t the ce for your performance.”

Ellis’s words cut like ice, his tone edged with chill and unspoken scorn. Sylvia was putting on a performance, drawing attention like it was her full-time job.

Moises gave a small nod, a flicker of satisfaction passing through him—someone had finally said what he’d been thinking all along. He didn’t know every detail, but when it came to his student, his trust was absolute.

Fannie, too, had studied under Moises. At first, she saw Elena as a rival and constantly pushed herself to outshine her.

But when things fell apart for Fannie, it was Elena who stepped in and helped her find her footing again.

To offer help to someone who once treated her likepetition—there was no clearer proof of character than that. That, above all, was why Moises admired Elena deeply. She was confident, but never full of herself.
