    Finally seeing her dream about toe true—marrying Jeffry—Evelyn had obsessed over every single detail of the wedding, especially the wedding dress. From the first sketches to seeing the real thing, she had been absolutely thrilled. Today, she was dead set on being the most stunning woman.


    But when Evelyn pushed open the door andid eyes on the wedding dress, her face went from excited to horrified in a split second. “Who the fuck ruined my wedding dress?” she shrieked, her voice bouncing off the walls as everyone came running.


    Aria gasped, “Oh my God! How did paint get all over it? How are you supposed to wear that now?”


    The once gorgeous and ridiculously expensive wedding dress was now a mess of paint stters all over the top and bottom.


    Evelyn was losing her mind, yelling, “Who did this? Who the hell would do something like this? This is the custom dress made by the best designer, Fannie Ellsworth! Do you have any idea how much this costs? How am I supposed to get married without it?”


    Elena and Javier, who were staying on the floor below, rushed over when they heard all the screaming.


    But the second Elena stepped into the doorway, a finger shot out, pointing right at her.


    Completely losing it, Evelyn screamed, “It must be you!”


    “Elena, you live on the tenth floor, and my wedding dress was right next door!” Evelyn hissed, her voice dripping with venom. “You’re just jealous that I’m marrying your brother, so you deliberately ruined my dress to humiliate me on my wedding day!”


    “And which eye of yours saw Elena ruin the wedding dress?” Javier shot back, instantlying to Elena’s defense.

    Evelyn red at Elena, her eyes burning with hatred. The image of the ruined wedding dress fueled her rage, and she imagined tearing Elena to shreds.


    “Who else could it possibly be but Elena?” Evelyn snarled through clenched teeth. “She caused that whole scandal, and everyone was asking me about it. I just casually dismissed it with offhand remarks, and she overheard, holding a grudge ever since. Plus, she’s never shown me any respect as her future sister-inw, and today, on my wedding day with her brother, she’s so evil-hearted that she ruined my wedding dress!”


    The crowd that had gathered around heard Evelyn’s usations, and their eyes turned toward Elena, filled with disapproval.


    “What kind of sister ruins her own brother’s wedding?”


    “Those raised in some backwater town are certainly petty-minded. Just because of a casual statement, she’s held onto it all this time.”


    “How could the Harper family have such a daughter? It’s truly shameful!”


    “Tell me about it. She’s even jealous of her own sister-inw. Ellis and Louis don’t have girlfriends, right? With such a petty sister-inw, who would dare marry into the Harper family in the future?”
