Chapter 731

    ?Chapter 731:

Jeffry frowned. “What was wrong with Elena?”

Malcolm clicked his tongue, annoyed. “Is that all you heard? I’ve beenining about needing the bathroom all damn afternoon!” He couldn’t help but think he had terrible taste in friends. One was a total sap when it came to love, and the other only cared about his sister. Did anyone even care how he was feeling?

Since Elena was okay, Jeffry didn’t care about Malcolm’s whining. Malcolm felt a tightness in his chest and, totally annoyed, let out a forced, humorlessugh.

Wesley took a rxed sip of his drink. “You gotta face the music when you make a bet.”

Malcolm drank sadly, wishing Kason were there. Out of all of them, Kason was the only one who seemed halfway normal, but sadly, he was on a mission and couldn’t join them.

Jeffry stayed calm the whole evening, showing no excitement at all about getting married the next day.

Malcolm finally asked, “Jeffry, why the long face? Tomorrow’s your big day. Shouldn’t you be a little happier?”

After a whole afternoon of stomach troubles, Malcolm’s face looked lifeless, but Jeffry’s looked even more so.

In a cold voice, Jeffry answered, “What’s there to be happy about? It’s just a formality.”

As far as Jeffry was concerned, the wedding was simply an event that required his presence in a suit. He had never been excited about it. His mother and Evelyn had arranged everything. In his n for life, marriage was just a tool to expand his family’s business empire.

Malcolm could tell exactly what was going through Jeffry’s head. “You’re not still moping about that bird of yours that flew the coop, are you?” he joked.

Jeffry nced at him indifferently, not bothering to respond.

The next morning, the sun peeked over the horizon, painting the sky in shades of gold.

Today was the big day—Jeffry and Evelyn’s wedding—and the ind was buzzing with activity before dawn.

Elena had burned the midnight oil finishing the blueprints for the hospital and school. After giving the design drafts to Wesley, she decided to sleep in a bit.

Jolie was barking orders at the staff, making them rece the flowers the sea breeze had trashed and getting someone to haul the good wine up from the cer.

Evelyn’s dressing room was on the eleventh floor, and her precious wedding dress was being kept safe and sound on the tenth floor. After getting her face perfectly done in the morning, Evelyn was finally going to slip into her one-of-a-kind wedding gown.
