Chapter 1124

    ?Chapter 1124:

However deeply I despised Connolly, however often death had danced through my wishes for him, this savage butchery twisted my gut with revulsion. My stomach churned against the barbaric disy. To witness someone carved apart like this—I simply couldn’t bear it. Leonardo’s savage cruelty nauseated me profoundly. Never had I dreamed he would plunge to such depths to force my submission.

“Stop it!” The words erupted, ced with fury. “Leonardo Reeves, even if you find out who my mother is, what difference does it make?”

His hand stilled upon the dagger. Slowly, his head lifted, revealing eyes zed with obsession as they locked onto mine. “Tell me, is your mother Josie?”

A coldugh tore from my throat, the sound ricocheting across the city wall.

“So what? My mom’s already dead. She died because of your betrayal, because of your usurpation. You indirectly caused her death!”

As the words escaped, the surrounding soldiers shifted uneasily, theirplexions draining of color. Shock rippled through their ranks.

    “Usurpation? What does she mean?”

“Is she talking about His Majesty?”

Nervous whispers hissed through the ranks, fracturing the oppressive silence.

Leonardo’splexion nched, and he snarled, “Makenna Dunn, shut your mouth!”

“Shut my mouth?” From my perch on the battlements, I gazed down at him with pure contempt. My voice remained steady, each word dripping with scorn. “Are you scared I’ll reveal the truth? You murdered the person who had always shown you kindness and treated you as family. That person was the rightful heir of the Lycan royal dynasty. And you coveted his wife, plotting to im her as your own! You’re a hypocrite, a disgrace. Even those royal robes you parade in are stained with his blood!”

At my words, Leonardo’s features turned thunderous.

His chest heaved withbored breaths as he roared, his voice splintering with fury, “Silence! Or I’ll kill you right now!”

Laughter bubbled up at his desperation, contempt saturating every syble. “Kill me? Do you really think you can kill me as easily as you did my father back then?”

The instant those words left my lips, Leonardo went rigid, and panic flickered across his eyes. But swiftly, a sinister, twisted smile reced the fear.

“Makenna, if I’m not mistaken, your father is that man, right? Do you even know the truth about how he died?”

    Leonardo’s POV:

When Makenna absorbed my words, her expression shifted in an instant. Her pupils narrowed, and a fleeting shadow of dread danced across her icy gaze.

Her reaction stirred memories of bygone years, and a robust chuckle escaped my lips.

    shback:

I hailed from a lesser branch of the Lycan royal lineage, a mere speck in the grand tapestry of our kin, often treated with disdain.

On a dreary, rain-soaked day, a band of children from other factions encircled me, pelting me with mud, striking me, and flinging cruel taunts with abandon.

At that pivotal moment, the former king, apanied by his sole heir, Giovanni, arrived to survey the area.
