Chapter 1067

    ?Chapter 1067:

Bitterness flickered across Pa’s face as she worried her bottom lip between her teeth. “When you’ve been caged in this nightmare as long as I have, you learn to count every second. I’ve been nning my escape since day one. I can’t endure another moment in this hell!”

Her eyes locked with mine. “I still don’t understand why you’d risk everything for strangers, but I swear, I will carry this debt until my dying day.”

Hearing her words, I paused at the corner. “Save your gratitude,” I murmured, my voice taking on an edge of determination. “Right now, we need to focus on freeing those white wolves.”

Dropping to one knee, I risked a quick glimpse around the corner. There stood a massive iron door, rusted at the edges, behind which dozens of werewolves huddled in cages barelyrge enough to turn around in. Their eyes held nothing but hollow despair—the unmistakable look of creatures who had suffered too long without hope.

The sight of their broken spirits cut through me like a physical wound. I turned to Pa, anxiety creeping into my voice. “Pa, do you know how to get inside?”

A wave of hatred transformed Pa’s haggard face as she clenched her fists, her whisper burning with rage. “The keys to the cells hang from the guard captain’s belt. That guy usually lurks in the office adjacent to the cells, his eyes never leaving those poor white wolves…”

She paused, a hint of sarcasm on her lips. “But even he has a weakness. The man drowns himself in liquor every night. Once the alcohol takes hold, he copses into a stupor so deep nothing can wake him. That’s our window to snatch the key.”

Hope flickered to life in my eyes. This was our way in—a genuine chance.

Yet Pa’s expression suddenly crumpled with unbearable pain. She bit her lip as tears gathered at the corners of her eyes. “If it weren’t for being my turn for their blood experiments, I’d be trapped in there too, suffering alongside those werewolves…”

Her voice faltered, thick with emotion. “The only reason I have a separate cell is for their convenience—to make it easier for them to drain my blood whenever they please.”

Seeing Pa’s pained expression, my heart constricted with empathy. I ced a gentle hand on her trembling shoulder and spoke with quiet conviction. “Pa, don’t worry. I promise I’ll do everything in my power to get all of you out of here safely. You’ll never have to endure such cruelty again. But first, we need a thorough n.”

A spark ignited in Pa’s hollow eyes, chasing away the shadows of despair. She clutched my hand with unexpected fervor. “You already have something in mind?”

I nodded, my gaze steady and determined. “Pa, how long do you think it will take for your wounds to fully heal?”

    Makenna’s POV:

Pa frowned and then said, “I’m just an ordinary white wolf. I’m so weak, I doubt I can heal myself.”

I frowned too upon hearing this. Perhaps if Pa couldn’t heal herself, I could help her?

“Pa, I need you to teach me how a white wolf can heal themselves. You’re a white wolf, so you must be familiar with the process. Please teach me.”

Pa appeared momentarily taken aback by my words. However, she quickly regained herposure and began, “For a white wolf to heal themselves, they need to channel all the energy within them into their clenched fists. To heal someone else, they have to take hold of the person’s hand and release the gathered energy to them.”

My face lit up as I finally grasped the workings of this life-saving procedure. I didn’t dwell too long on my excitement as I asked again, “How do we mobilize the energy?”
