Chapter 1054

    ?Chapter 1054:

This dy, however, gave Rowell and his men an opening to overwhelm the princes and close the distance between me and them. Rowell smiled menacingly as he approached me at full speed.

Amon screamed out a warning and then transformed into a wolf, rushing at Rowell in my defense.

Rowell, however, was too strong. As soon as they shed, Rowell struck Amon with a powerful blow, throwing him into a tree.

Amon groaned in pain as he hit the ground, blood spurting from his mouth. He reverted to his human form, unconscious.

I stared at his broken body in horror.

    Makenna’s POV:

“Don’t you dare touch her,” the three princes screamed in unison.

I turned to them, watching as they desperately tried to fight off the enemies blocking their path to me. Rowell’s soldiers, however, were putting up a strong resistance.

Rowell red at me with a menacing look. His presence alone struck fear in my heart. Trembling uncontrobly, I asked, “What… What do you want?”

He let out a dark chuckle, his eyes scanning me as if assessing my worth. Finally, with a look of disdain, he said, “You are so unremarkable. Why do the three princes go through so much trouble to protect you? Why bring you into the werewolf forest?”

“That’s none of your concern,” I answered, trying to maintain a brave front. “Aren’t you afraid that what you’ve done here will cause the three princes to seek revenge when one of them ascends to the throne?”

The smile on Rowell’s face grew more sinister. Suddenly, he reached out and grabbed me by the neck. I gasped for air, struggling against his unyielding grip.

“No one knows when the king will abdicate. You should be more concerned about your own life,” he said coldly.

The fierce fighting around us seemed to pause at that moment. I looked up and saw the three princes finally breaking through the circle of soldiers surrounding them.

But Rowell didn’t seem concerned by this. His smile never wavered. His grip on my neck tightened, lifting me off the ground. He turned toward the princes and said, “One more step and I’ll snap her neck!”

This stopped the princes in their tracks. They hesitated, reverting to their human forms.

yton, his fists clenched, shouted, “Come at us then! What kind of man bullies a woman?”

Rowellughed indifferently. “On the battlefield, I don’t care who’s a man or who’s a woman, Your Highnesses.”

“You…” yton began, but then faltered, unable to find the right words.

Meanwhile, I was still struggling against Rowell’s grip.

Rowell’s grip abruptly tightened. “Stop struggling!” he ordered. “I won’t hesitate to hurt you, regardless of your gender. Hurting you might leave the three princes heartbroken.”

I froze in fear at his words.

Rowell then turned back to the princes, regarding them like a predator eyeing its prey. Slowly, he began, “You hold noble status, Your Highnesses. Although I’ve been ordered by His Majesty to kill all who enter the werewolf forest, I dare not harm you, as that would bring the wrath of His Majesty upon me. If you leave now, I’ll let her go. However, if you refuse, don’t me me for what I’ll do.”
