Chapter 1046

    ?Chapter 1046:

Stunned silence fell over the room.

My eyes widened in disbelief. Never had I imagined Maia would suggest something so bold, so unexpected. The citizens of Marehelm needed us now. Though the white wolves’ plight weighed on my conscience, bringing this up felt jarringly inappropriate.

Stepping forward, I grasped Maia’s hand firmly. “Mrs. Pierce,” I whispered urgently, “people in Marehelm are dying as we speak. Shouldn’t we focus on neutralizing the poison first?”

“As mayor of Marehelm,” Dayton stated firmly, “I cannot ignore the safety of our citizens. Their protection muste first.”

Bryan’s handsome face clouded with dissatisfaction as he spoke, his voice resonating deeply. “Mrs. Pierce, I understand your concern for the white wolves, but we need to…”

“Set our priorities straight. Rescuing them now will only create more chaos. Isn’t our immediate task to address the citizens’ poisoning?”

I found myself surprised that Bryan, typically so impulsive, could analyze the situation with such unexpected rity.

Maia acknowledged his point with a slight nod. “Your Highness,” she replied calmly, “what you may not realize is that to heal the citizens, we must first rescue the white wolves.”

“What do you mean?” I asked, confusion drawing my brows together, unable to hold back my question.

Maia exined patiently, “Although we cannotpletely cure the citizens, we can temporarily alleviate their symptoms. Most of the white wolves imprisoned in the werewolf forest possess advanced healing abilities. Only by freeing them can we buy the time needed to find an antidote.”

Upon hearing this, my eyes lit up. The three princes exchanged meaningful nces, and the tense atmosphere suddenly crackled with energy.

yton, who had maintained his silence until now, stepped forward decisively. “In that case, we should dispatch people to the werewolf forest immediately.”

Dayton’s expression grew grave as his gaze moved deliberately from one prince to another. “Your Highnesses,” he said with solemn authority, “I will arrange for someone who knows the werewolf forest intimately to guide you. But I must urge caution. The prison is heavily guarded by the werewolf n’s elite warriors—they won’t be easily ovee.”

The three princes acknowledged his warning with serious nods.

    Makenna’s POV:

“We mustn’t dy—let’s depart at once,” Dominic dered, his brow creasing faintly as his resolute tone brooked no argument.

“Wait a moment,” Dayton interjected, lifting a hand to pause the momentum. He then beckoned one of his aides forward.

Turning to the three princes with a courteous nod, he said, “This individual knows thendscape of the werewolf forest intimately and will serve as your guide.”

The three princes shared a quick nce, their silent agreement evident as they nodded and readied themselves to set out.

As they prepared to leave, a wave of urgency surged within me. I swiftly stepped into their path, halting their advance.

“I’ming with you,” I insisted, my fingers curling around yton’s arm with a determined edge to my voice.
