Chapter 1026

    ?Chapter 1026:

Jetty motionless on the bed, his face as pale as paper. Life-support machines beeped around him, the dagger still lodged in his chest—a chilling sight.

Tears blurred my vision, grief constricting my throat, rendering me speechless. Bryan’s hand found my shoulder, his voice soft. “What’s your n to save him?”

I inhaled deeply, steadying my voice. “I’ll use my blood, just as I did before. It saved him once; it will again.”

With trembling hands, I reached out to remove the dagger from Jett’s chest.

    “Stop!”

A gentle yet firm voice halted my movements just as my fingers grazed the dagger.

    Makenna’s POV:

    My hand froze mid-motion.

Turning, I saw Dayton and Maia stepping inside, their expressions filled with concern. The moment my eyesnded on Maia, a spark of hope ignited within me, cutting through the overwhelming darkness. Without hesitation, I rushed toward her, my voice shaking as I clutched Maia’s hand. “Mrs. Pierce, please—tell me how I can save Jett!”

Maia frowned, unusually serious, her eyes flicking between Jett and me, as though weighing the gravity of her next words.

After a pause, she finally spoke. “You saved Jett before with your blood, but using the same method now won’t be nearly as effective. This time, it will take much more—enough to put your own life at risk. Are you willing to take that chance?”

I didn’t hesitate. My nod was firm, my voice unwavering. “Yes! I’ll do whatever it takes to save him!” Jett’s life mattered more than my own.

Maia exhaled deeply before turning to the three princes, her expression unreadable. “I assume the three of you already know who I really am.” A faint mncholy tinged her voice. “I was still young when I arrived in Marehelm, and I never learned much about how white wolves heal others. Now, it’s far toote to search for other white wolves in the werewolf forest. Makenna carries the bloodline of the Saint, granting her remarkable healing abilities. Since she saved Jett with her blood once before, no other white wolf can help him now. And with the kind of wounds he has… only Makenna has a chance of saving him.”

Her worried eyes settled back on me.

At Maia’s revtion, the three princes stiffened, unease shing across their faces.

I knew exactly what troubled them. They had always stood by my side, and now, they feared for my safety. But Jett was in this condition because of me. He had risked everything to protect me—how could I possibly stand by and do nothing now?

Maia slowly lowered her head, as if piecing her thoughts together. After a brief silence, she looked up at me steadily and said, “As a white wolf who once served the Saint’s lineage, I know a little about healing. Right now, your best option is to give Jett your blood. Let his condition stabilize first, and then carefully time the removal of the dagger while increasing the blood supply. If everything goes right, he might stand a chance.”

As she spoke, she trudged toward me. Stopping in front of me, she reached out, her fingers gently wrapping around mine, concern in her eyes. “Makenna, I won’t lie to you.”

“There’s no certainty that this will work. But at this moment, it’s the only hope we have.”

Without a second thought, I nodded firmly. “If it means saving Jett, I’ll do it—even if it takes every drop of my blood.”
