Chapter 1018

    ?Chapter 1018:

His gaze locked onto mine, drinking in my fear with twisted satisfaction. A wicked grin spread across his face.

    Makenna’s POV:

Cody’s unhinged brutality sent a shiver coursing through me, fear prickling along my spine.

“Cody! You’re a deranged maniac! Aplete madman!” I red at him, my voice quaking with fury and dread as my eyes locked onto the dagger clutched in his hand. Each word wed its way out,ced with rage I couldn’t contain and terror that gripped me tight.

“Ha-ha…” Far from being rattled by my outburst, Cody tossed his head back and let out a wild, frenziedugh, his face twisting into something almost feral. “Sure, I’m a madman. And what are you going to do about it?”

Before I could even process his taunt, he jerked his arm up, the dagger shing with a cold glint as he shed it viciously across my face.

“Ah!” A raw scream tore from my throat.

In that split second, it felt like a thousand needles had pierced my skin. The agony was blinding, my sight flickering to ck as I instinctively tried to twist away—but his iron grip pinned me in ce, leaving me helpless.

Blood streamed from the gash, sliding down my cheek and pooling on the ground in crimson sshes.

“Cody! Stop!” The three princes roared in unison, their voices a storm of fury and desperation.

But Cody acted as if they didn’t exist, their pleas bouncing off him like whispers in the wind.

He turned to me with a slow, chilling grin that made my skin crawl.

“Hmm? Why isn’t that cut closing up yet? Are you some kind of counterfeit white wolf?” he mused, cocking his head with mock intrigue.

As he spoke, he jabbed a finger into the raw wound with cruel precision.

“Ah!” A fresh surge of fiery pain ripped through me, wrenching another cry from my lips.

Cody’s grin widened, my torment clearly fueling his twisted delight. He pulled his hand back with a satisfied air, and just then, a faint prickling stirred in the wound, the slow crawl of healing kicking in.

Noticing it, Cody narrowed his eyes, a sinister smirk tugging at his mouth. “Oh, so you are indeed a white wolf with some healing tricks up your sleeve. Not bad at all! Guess I don’t have to worry about killing you before the game is over. Ha-ha…” With that, he hoisted the dagger high again.

A flurry of shes followed, carving jagged marks across my face.

“Ah!” I wailed, the sound reverberating around us as if I could somehow expel the torment racking my body.

“Makenna!” The princes, their restraint crumbling, lunged forward in a frantic bid to reach me.

But the soldiers stationed behind them mped down hard, yanking them back before they could close the distance.

Pain crashed over me in relentless waves, soaking me in cold sweat as my vision swam.

Cody, meanwhile, beamed at the princes with a sickeningly cheerful expression, feigning earnestness as he asked, “So, what’s it going to be? Will you surrender your werewolf powers and pull out of Marehelm, or just stand there while I carve Makenna into pieces?”
