Chapter 950

    Chapter 950:

Dayton froze mid-step, his breath ragged as he wrestled his temper back into check.

With a frustrated flourish of his sleeve, he ground his teeth. “I pegged Cody as just another political rival, tossing cheap shots my way. Never did I dream he would harbor such venomous schemes—something this downright diabolical. I can’t just sit on my hands!”

His rage slowly ebbed, and Dayton turned to Jett and me, his voice thick with sincerity. “Given the mess we’re in, I’m counting on you both. If we can untangle this knot, I…”

    swear I’ll repay you handsomely.”

I mulled it over in silence, sensing a golden chance to not only exonerate Alden but also inch closer to our dream of stepping into the werewolf forest.

Turning to Maia, I asked in a hushed tone, “Mrs. Pierce, have you filled Mr. Pierce in on our situation?”

Maia faltered for a heartbeat, casting a nce at Dayton before shaking her head. “Not yet—the moment hasn’t been right.”

I nodded, piecing it together. Dayton, fully aware that Maia was a white wolf, had still chosen her as his mate, even braving danger to stand by her. That kind of loyalty spoke volumes—he was a man we could trust.

With my doubtsid to rest, I locked eyes with Dayton and cut to the chase. “Mr. Pierce, haven’t you ever wondered how Edward managed to shatter the potion’s hold over you?”

Dayton’s brow creased at my words, and after a thoughtful pause, he replied measuredly, “Whoever you are, the fact that you pulled me from the brink proves your hearts are in the right ce. I’m not the sort to bite the hand that feeds me.”

Jett and I traded a knowing nce, a spark of resolve passing between us.

I drew a steadying breath, squared my shoulders, and dered with gravitas, “Then let’s not mince words. Our terms are straightforward; we ask for your blessing to venture into the werewolf forest.”

    Evelyn’s POV:

I was lodged at the luxurious hotel where the three princes were staying, apanied by Jenny Castro, who was pretending to be my mother.

The beauty of the hotel was overwhelming. Dazzling crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting a soft glow on everything beneath them. It felt as though we had slipped into a fairytale world. Jenny was clearly awestruck by the beauty around her. She looked around, a look of amazement in her eyes. “This is wonderful. I can’t believe I’m in a ce like this. It’s truly breathtaking.”

“Be quiet!” I snapped, my tone sharp andmanding. “Watch what you say, or you’ll find yourself in trouble!”

Jenny was quite taken aback by the harshness in my tone, and her hand immediately left the vase she had been touching. There was a flicker of fear in her eyes as she hesitantly asked, “The princes, they trust you, right? There shouldn’t be any reason to suspect us, right?”

I red at her and coldly replied, “You better keep in mind what to say and what not to say. If you ruin this, I’ll make sure you pay dearly.”

Jenny’s face grew pale, and she trembled slightly before nodding her head in understanding and keeping her mouth shut.

However, the knot of anxiety in my chest didn’t seem to lessen. I turned to Jenny again and said, “Quickly take the medicine so you can pretend to be sick. The three princes wille check on uster, and we can’t afford any mistakes.”

Jenny hurriedly pulled out a bottle of pills with trembling hands. It was only when I saw her swallow a few of the pills that I rxed a little. I took a deep breath and softly said, “If you do a good job, Mr. Harrison will be grateful to you. You’ll be rewarded ordingly once the mission is aplished.”
