?Chapter 935:
The lighthearted moment slipped away, reced by a sudden weight in my chest. My smile faltered.
Jett met my gaze, his eyes filled with something deep yet hesitant.
“Can we talk?”
I hesitated, then gave a small nod.
One after the other, we stepped into my room. The air between us was thick, making it hard to breathe.
Jett lowered his head, his expression unreadable. When he finally spoke, his voice was quiet, almost uncertain. “Do you hate me?”
The question caught me off guard, my mind drifting to all the moments I had shared with him.
Jett had been a friend and a mentor—someone who had guided and protected me. But more than anything, I felt gratitude toward him, not the deeper feelings he wanted.
My silence seemed to confirm his worst fears.
His shoulders tensed before he forced a sad smile. “It’s my fault. I pushed you too much. I just… I’ve never liked anyone this way before. I lost control of my emotions and didn’t know how to handle them.”
His confession sent a wave of uncertainty through me. I bit my lower lip, watching him struggle with emotions I couldn’t return. Guilt twisted inside me.
“Jett, I don’t hate you. Really,” I said softly. “But I don’t think we’re in a ce to talk about love right now.”
I exhaled, trying to gather my thoughts. “You’re a good person—kind, caring, and gentle. I never meant to hurt you, but I did, and I’m sorry.”
Jett held my gaze for a long moment. Pain flickered in his eyes, mingling with hesitation and something else—determination.

Then, he let out a slow breath, his lips curving into a wistful smile. “I understand.”
For a second, I thought that was it—that he was ready to move on. But his next words shook me.
“Makenna, I won’t leave you. No matter how long it takes, no matter how hard it gets, I’ll stay until the day you truly ept and love me.”
His conviction left me speechless. I stared at him, unsure how to respond.
The atmosphere grew heavy, and Jett seemed to notice my unease. Composing himself, he shifted the conversation. “By the way, have the three princes figured out who you are? What’s their n now?”
Relieved by the change in subject, I exhaled and answered seriously, “Yes, they know the truth. But surprisingly, they don’t intend to expose me. Instead, they’ve offered their help.”
Jett’s expression darkened.
He paced the room before stopping right in front of me, his eyes sharp with concern. “Do you really trust them? This is moreplicated than they realize. Once they learn everything, will they still be so willing to stand by your side?”
His eyes locked onto mine, his tone turning cautious. “I’m worried they have motives they haven’t revealed yet.”
Makenna’s POV:
My brows knitted together, a weight pressing heavily on my chest as worry consumed me. Jett’s concerns were valid, and his unease only deepened my own apprehension, pulling me into a whirlpool of anxious thoughts.
