Chapter 924

    ?Chapter 924:

I paused, my hands trembling at my sides as I forced the next words out. “But one thing is certain, there’s a blood feud between us.” As my wordsnded, the tension in the room became unbearable, like a storm pressing down on my chest, stealing the air from my lungs.

Tears burned my eyes before I could stop them. I wiped them away hastily, my voice breaking. “This is where we part ways. I’m grateful for everything you’ve done for me, but the truth doesn’t change. We were never meant to be anything but enemies. And if I ever get the chance… I will kill the king.”

The three princes just stood there, silently watching me, their eyes filled with pain and struggle. They wanted to say something, but their throats seemed blocked, unable to utter a single word.

I met their eyes, a storm of despair and heartache churning within me. Clenching my fists, I steeled myself before turning away, determined to leave.

But just as I took a step, a firm hand suddenly seized my wrist—a grip so strong and unwavering that resistance was futile.

I spun around, only to find Bryan staring at me, his eyes tinged with red.

“Makenna… I can’t… I just can’t bring myself to be your enemy.” His voice, heavy with restrained emotions, trembled as though years of suppression had finally cracked open.

I struggled to break free, but his hold was unyielding, like an iron shackle that refused to let go.

Frustration and agony tangled in my chest, and I snapped at him, my voice raw. “Then tell me, what choice do I have? Am I supposed to turn my back on my own people?”

Bryan didn’t answer. Instead, in one swift motion, he pulled me into his arms. His breath was warm against my ear as he whispered, his voiceced with quiet determination, “I’ll help you. No matter the obstacles, no matter how impossible the road ahead seems, I’ll stand by your side.”

His words carried the weight of an unbreakable promise. I froze. A torrent of emotions surged through me, overwhelming and inescapable. My vision blurred as fresh tears welled in my eyes.

    Makenna’s POV:

Bryan said he was willing to help me? Willing to stand by my side? His words struck like a thunderp, reverberating through me and leaving me momentarily speechless. I stared at him in sheer disbelief before blurting out, “Do you even realize what you’re saying?”

His face was lined with anguish, his brows knitted tightly, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. When he finally spoke, his voice was thick with emotion. “I know exactly what I’m saying. I understand the weight of it. If my father was truly in the wrong back then, I won’t defend him.”

His gaze held an unshakable determination, as though, in this moment, he had cast aside everything just to reach me. Even Dominic’s and yton’s eyes shimmered with unshed tears.

yton stepped forward, his expression solemn yet sincere, his voice steady and resolute. “Makenna, if what you’re fighting for is right, then we’ll stand with you. We’ll help uncover the truth of what happened back then, no matter how difficult or dangerous it may be.”

Dominic exhaled heavily, his eyes shutting briefly as though waging an internal battle. When he reopened them, his gaze was firm. “Makenna, we’ve already started investigating the past. From now on, we’ll protect you. No matter what happens, we won’t let harme to you.”

I could only stare at them, heart pounding, their words sounding utterly absurd. “Are you all insane?”
