Chapter 792

    ?Chapter 792:

Evie listened carefully. When I finished, she straightened, determination burning in her eyes. “Don’t worry, Makenna. I’ll take care of it.”

Without hesitation, Evie turned and left.

Watching her disappear from the doorway, I murmured to myself, “Antoni, don’t think you’re the only one who knows how to y dirty. I can y this game too.”

Before long, the pce buzzed with rumors about Antoni. As I strolled through the corridors, the hushed conversations of servants and guards reached my ears.

“Did you hear? That thing about Antoni and Molly—it’s said her child was his,” one servant whispered.

“Unbelievable,” another replied. “If His Majesty finds out, Antoni’s finished. Betraying the princes like that? It’s madness.”

Satisfaction swelled within me. My n was unfolding perfectly. Turning back to my quarters, I allowed myself a small, victorious smile. Soon, the scandal about Antoni wouldpletely eclipse Alice’s troubles. While I quietly celebrated the sess of my scheme, a sudden knock at my door interrupted me.

Opening it, I found Bryan standing there, his expression serious.

Caught off guard, I asked, “What brings you here?”

Bryan strode past me, his movements calm but assertive. Settling into the sofa as though it were his own, he said, “I came to talk about Alice and Amon.”

Confusion flickered through me. How had this situation drawn Bryan’s attention?

He fixed me with a prating stare. “Amon begged me to let Alice leave the pce.”

    His words stunned me.

Amon had the courage to go that far? Wasn’t he afraid of Bryan’s infamous wrath?

As if sensing my thoughts, Bryan sighed, his toneced with a rare hint of softness. “Makenna, I’m not a monster. Besides, Amon is my most loyal subordinate, and I don’t have any special attachment to Alice. Letting her go isn’t a big deal.”

    ???????? ???????? ???? ??????????ν????????????

A surge of relief and joy washed over me, and I couldn’t help but smile for Alice’s sake. “So, Alice can really leave the pce?” I asked eagerly.

Bryan gave a slight nod, a sly grin tugging at the corner of his lips. “Of course, but there’s one condition.”

    Makenna’s POV:

“Condition? If you don’t want to let her go, just be honest!” I said, ring at Bryan. I wished I could wipe that smug smile off his face.

“You’ll need to give me something in return for her freedom,” Bryan said.

My anger boiled over upon hearing this, and I yelled, “What do you want in return?”

“Let’s spice things up with a little game,” Bryan said with a mischievous grin. He then produced a deck of cards and shuffled them with practiced ease.

The cards moved deftly between his fingers with a soft rustling sound. As he shuffled, he smiled at me and said, “If I lose, I’ll not only let Alice leave the pce, but I’ll also let her marry Amon. But if you lose, you’ll have to take off a piece of clothing for each round.”

I bit my lip as I struggled toe to a decision. Finally, I reluctantly agreed—for Alice’s sake.

The game began with Bryan expertly dealing the cards.

I took a look at my hand and cursed. “Did you rig this? My cards are terrible!”

Bryan yed his cards with a confident smile on his face. “I didn’t rig anything. I’m just really good at this.”
