?Chapter 784:
“There’s no need to rush,” he said, his tone deliberately calm. “First, tell me about the incident at the warehouse. And why, all of a sudden, have you turned hostile toward us? What happened? Tell me everything.”
I fell silent, a torrent of conflicting emotions swirling inside me.
After a long pause, I lifted my eyes to meet Dominic’s unwavering, almost stubborn stare. A deep sigh escaped my lips as I steeled myself. I was ready to recount everything that had transpired at the warehouse, everyst detail, no matter how bitter.
“That day, I went to the hospital to find you three, hoping to save Martin,” I began, my voice steady despite the churn in my chest. “But you were all too absorbed in Evelyn’s condition. So,ter that evening, I had no choice but to sneak into the Harrison family estate and rescue him. Afterward…”
Dominic was taken aback as he listened, his intense gaze locking onto me, a flicker of pain and regret seeping into his eyes.
Seeing that look, a sharp pang of anguish shot through my heart. I couldn’t suppress the bitter, self-deprecating smile that crept onto my lips. “As for why I’m hostile toward you… I’m a white wolf. Isn’t it only natural for me to resent the Lycan royalty?”
Dominic frowned, clearly still confused. “But that doesn’t add up. You’ve known you’re a white wolf for ages. Why didn’t you harbor this resentment before? Why did your attitude shift only after meeting Jett? Wait… I know. It must’ve been something Jett said to you, right?” He hesitated, and then pressed on, his voice growing firmer. “Did Jett tell you that your family was killed by the Lycan royalty?”
A sinking feeling gripped my heart.
His sharp insight caught me off guard.
I remained silent, my lips sealed tight, but my hesitation spoke volumes. I didn’t need to confirm his suspicions for him to know the truth.
Dominic’s brow furrowed deeper, his eyes narrowing with confusion. “But why did you believe Jett so easily? As far as I know, your mother passed away during childbirth. How could the Lycan royalty be responsible for that?”
?????? ???????? ????????????????: g??????ν?????????????
His voice, quiet yetden with disbelief, tried to read me, seeking answers in the subtle shifts of my expression.
I knew that if I didn’t offer a reasonable exnation soon, Dominic wouldn’t let this matter go.
I paused for a moment, gathering my thoughts, and then, with biting coldness, asked, “Besides my mother, don’t I have any other rtives?”
Dominic’s response was nothing but silence.
A bitter expression twisted my features as I pressed further, anger rising in my voice. “My entire family perished because of the Lycan royalty. If it weren’t for them, my mother would never have met my so-called father, and she probably wouldn’t have suffered through that brutal childbirth. Do I not have a reason to hate you?”
Dominic’s voice trembled slightly as he spoke, as though the words themselves pained him. “But all of that is in the past. Those were the grievances of the previous generation. Can’t you let it go?”
His words sparked a wave of bitterughter from me, oneced with frustration. “If it were you, could you just let it go?”
Dominic’s eyes darkened, and he turned his head, unwilling to meet my gaze.
I took a deep breath, trying to rein in my emotions, and asked again, more firmly this time, “I’ve told you everything you wanted to know. Now, can you tell me about the remaining members of the white wolf n?”
