Chapter 776

    ?Chapter 776:

I winced, feeling the sting of my mistake. The guilt gnawed at me, leaving me speechless.

But as his finger brushed my forehead, a strange warmth surged through me, spreading like wildfire. My body grew inexplicably hot, and I froze, startled by the sensation.

Shaking it off, I chalked it up to my imagination and didn’t dwell on it. After a moment’s pause, I mustered the courage to ask, “Jett, there’s something I’ve always wanted to know. What happened between the Lycan royal family and the white wolves all those years ago?”

At that, Jett’s rxed demeanor evaporated. His face grew somber, the weight of the question sinking into the air between us. He hesitated, his eyes searching mine.

“Are you sure you want to open that can of worms? Once you know the truth, you won’t be able to shrug off the responsibility thates with it. The white wolves’ fate will rest on your shoulders.”

His words hit me like a hammer to the chest, heavy and unyielding.

But deep down, I knew this was a truth I couldn’t run from. Destiny had a funny way of catching up with you, no matter how fast you tried to escape.

I squared my shoulders and nodded firmly. “Yes, Jett. Tell me everything.”

    Jett’s POV:

I locked eyes with Makenna, drawing in a steadying breath as I prepared to shatter the fragile reality she knew.

“Your father was destined to be the King of the Lycan royal family!”

“What… what are you saying?” Makenna’s face went ck with disbelief, her mouth parting as though words had failed her.

    “Does that mean… I’m blood-rted to the three princes? No… this can’t be…”

    ???????? ???????? ???????????????? ???? ?α??????ν??????.??????

“Don’t lose your cool, Makenna. Just hear me out.”

I reached out, resting a calming hand on her shoulder, trying to anchor her to the moment. “The truth is, the current king is nothing but a fraud.”

Makenna froze as if someone had uttered a spell that paralyzed her. Her expression shifted wildly, a whirlwind of confusion, shock, and denial overtaking her features.

I sighed deeply, letting the weight of the revtion settle. Then, carefully, I began unraveling the threads of a story buried under years of deceit and betrayal.

“Years ago, thete king—your grandfather, deeply in love with thete Saint of the white wolf n—had a son, your father, Giovanni Reeves. When your grandmother tragically passed away, your grandfather was devastated. He never remarried, dedicating his life to raising Giovanni as his only heir.”

Makenna clutched my arm as if bracing for impact, her voice shaky and unsteady. “Then… then what’s the story with the current king, Leonardo? What happened to my father? How did Leonardo inherit the throne?”

My hands balled into fists, anger burning bright in my chest. “Leonardo is a snake in the grass! A traitor who betrayed the very hand that lifted him up.”

I could feel my voice tightening with emotion, the words spilling out like venom. “After your grandmother passed, your grandfather and Giovanni embarked on a journey to mend their broken hearts. Along the way, they encountered the young Leonardo—a side-branch Lycan, abandoned and mistreated. Moved by his plight, your father suggested adopting him. Leonardo was treated like family. Giovanni protected and nurtured him, trusting him wholeheartedly.”

My voice cracked slightly, but I pressed on, the bitterness wing at my throat.

“But Leonardo was nothing but a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He grew jealous, envious of everything Giovanni had. Worse still, he set his sights on your mother, Josie—the new Saint of the white wolf n. He knew that only the Lycan King could wed the Saint. Driven by greed and ambition, he orchestrated a betrayal that would topple the rightful heir. He allied with the Harrison family to stage a coup, seizing the throne.”
