Chapter 748

    ?Chapter 748:

Her embrace was reassuring, but it caught me off guard. Still, she was a stranger, and I awkwardly wriggled free, my eyes lingering on the fresh cuts and bruises marring her skin. Hesitant but curious, I finally asked, “Grace, what happened to you? Why are you so beat up?”

Grace let out a light sigh, her tone casual, as though recounting nothing more than a minor mishap. “Oh, I had to throw the three princes’ men off your trail.”

I blinked, the confusion in on my face. “Throw them off? What do you mean?”

Grace tilted her head with a faint smirk. “I rigged a few bombs near their main military base to lure them away from the pce. It worked—well, mostly. Turns out, those princes and theirckeys are tougher than I thought. They chased me all night, and, well… let’s just say I got a little roughed up shaking them off.”

She shrugged as if the bruises and exhaustion were no more than an afterthought.

Hearing her tale, thest bits of my mistrust ebbed away, leaving only gratitude and guilt in its wake.

“Thank you, Grace. If you hadn’t put everything on the line to divert their attention, I’d still be stuck in that pce.”

I offered Grace a heartfelt thank you and then drew in a steadying breath before asking both of them, “Can you finally tell me the truth about what really happened back then?”

I nced at Jett, then shifted my gaze slowly to Grace. “So, what’s the real story between the Lycan royal family and the white wolves? Did the white wolves really stage a rebellion?”

Jett’s face, usually a mask of calm, darkened instantly. A flicker of raw hatred shed in his eyes.

His fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned white, and his whole body quivered with barely restrained fury. His voice, sharp and unyielding, cut through the air. “It’s all lies cooked up by the Lycan royals! They smeared the white wolves, tarnished the Saint’s name, and schemed to grab control of the entire werewolf n!”

He paused, his gaze burning with a mix of scorn and rage. “You might as well call the current Lycan royal family a total farce!”

    ?????????????? ?????????? ?????? galn??v??????.??????

His words hit me like a thunderp. I stood there, stunned, my mind struggling to process this revtion. “That can’t be true…” I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper.

Before I could press further, a sudden, thunderous crash shattered the tense atmosphere. The courtyard gate burst open, mming against the walls with a deafening bang.

    Makenna’s POV:

The sound of the gate being kicked open caused me to flinch in shock. I turned to the gate and saw the three princes standing menacingly at the entrance. Behind them, arge group of soldiers d in armor and wielding weapons surrounded our courtyard.

How on earth did they find us here?

My first thought was to hide, but Bryan’s gaze had already locked onto me.

His lips twisted in a cold smile, and he said, “So you’re really here, Makenna.”

Something about his gaze and tone made me uneasy. However, I forced myself to remain calm. “How did you find this ce?” I asked.

Bryan crossed his arms and then answered, “We received news that our important military base had been attacked. When we arrived at the scene, we learned that you had escaped. It wasn’t hard to guess that someone had lured us away so as to be able to rescue you.”
