?Chapter 741:
He carried me smoothly to the table. His eyes showed a soft but firm insistence as he muttered, “Be good. Eat something.”
The aroma of the food was overwhelming, and I was still hesitant.
But I recalled how yton had consistently shown me kindness and respect, never forcing me to do anything. Perhaps he would honor a promise to let me go after I ate.
Encouraged by this thought, I picked up the utensils and started to eat.
Initially, I nibbled cautiously, but my intense hunger soon took over, and I began to consume the meal voraciously. yton watched me, his lips curving slightly into a doting smile.
“There’s plenty more. No need to rush. Enjoy your meal,” he encouraged, constantly refilling my te with food. “If you want more, I can have the kitchen make some extra.”
“Mmm… Okay…” I nodded, barely paying attention, pletely engrossed in eating.
Soon enough, I had cleared everything on the table. Feeling content and full, I turned to yton expectantly.
“Can I leave now?”
Makenna’s POV:
“No, you can’t.” yton’s slender fingers gently swept the stray strands of hair away from my forehead, his voice as soft and melodious as a luby. “Wouldn’t it be nicer to stay here in peace and quiet?”
A shiver ran down my spine, every inch of me feeling icy cold, my heart wrapped in a chilling embrace. I stared at him, my disbelief etched deep in my eyes. “What… what did you say?”
How could this gentle-looking man utter such coldhearted words?
?????????? ?????????? ?????????????? at ????????ν????????????
Was this still the yton I once admired and knew so well?
Disappointment and fury tangled together in my chest, and my emotions boiled over. I pushed yton away forcefully and screamed, “How long do you n to cage me!? Do you intend to keep me locked up here forever?”
Unfazed, yton remained calm, his expression as serene as still water. He responded with a nonchnt shrug, “Yes.”
The simple word sliced through my heart like a razor. I froze in ce, my breath hitched, and my eyes widened in disbelief as I gawked at him.
yton stepped closer, his hand softly brushing my cheek, his gaze an enigma of affection. In a soothing tone, he murmured, “Isn’t it peaceful to stay here forever? To be with us, always? You would belong only to us.”
A chill shot through me from my toes up to my chest. In that moment, yton seemed monstrous in my eyes.
He… he wasn’t the yton I once knew.
I shook uncontrobly, tears flooding my face as I sobbed out loud, “I’m not your pet. I’m a person. I need freedom.”
With that, all reason abandoned me. I wreaked havoc in the room, smashing furniture, screaming, and throwing dishes onto the floor in a whirlwind of chaos. “Let me out! Let me out!”
The room echoed with the sound of destruction, an overwhelming mess.
“yton, didn’t you boast you could calm her down? Why is she even more restless now?” Suddenly, Bryan’s voice cut through the doorway.
yton shot him a sharp nce, his displeasure clear, and then retorted with a smirk, “If it were you, Makenna wouldn’t even bother trying to eat, let alone be calmed.”
