Chapter 1099

    ?Chapter 1099:

He was fully invested in maintaining his facade. That was very thoughtful!

“Why are you here?” Ellie asked. She didn’t blow his cover.

“I heard rinda was causing trouble, so I came to check it out.”

Harry informed Kaiden about how rinda had made Ellie go blind.

Kaiden’s cold stare locked onto rinda, his face so stern it looked like he was ready to kill.

He had considered the chance of a setup, but since there was no shared enemy between Ellie and Carole, he hadn’t thought anyone would harm both.

    Still, it was his mistake.

Allowing rinda the opportunity to hurt Ellie was also his fault!

“Kaiden, I noticed the strange scent earlier and didn’t mention it,” Ellie said, not sure why she could tell he was ming himself.

    “So it’s not your fault.”

For a brief moment, Kaiden wondered why Ellie had tried tofort him. Was it out of sympathy? And was there love hidden behind that sympathy?

Glenn received the news and took the first avable flight, arriving three hourster. May exined the entire situation, and as Glenn examined rinda more closely, he thought her face looked oddly familiar.

“Is Reyna Benton your sister?” he asked.

“Yes!” rinda’s eyes burned with anger as she red at Glenn. “I’m surprised a cold-hearted man like you still remembers her!”

Glenn had already learned the details during his flight. He stood in the living room, unmoved and doing nothing, but his steady voice still carried immense weight.

“Her unborn baby turned into a deformed fetus, and she didn’t survive the surgery. Do you think that’s my fault?”

“Isn’t it your fault? You told her to abort the baby!” rinda’s emotions boiled over. She tried to stand up, but the bodyguard held her back. Overwhelmed by painful memories, she broke down in tears.

“Glenn, even an animal wouldn’t hurt its own young. You’re worse than a beast!” rinda’s outburst didn’t faze Glenn. He asked calmly, “Did she ever mention that I agreed to let her have the baby, but wouldn’t give her or the child any share of the family assets?”

rinda was taken aback, looking utterly confused.

“Share? What did share have to do with a baby?”

“When Reyna and I first started seeing each other, I made it clear I didn’t want children. We always used protection. The pregnancy wasn’t an ident. She tampered with the condom.”

Glenn hadn’t thought about these events for a while, but the memories were still fresh.

“You’re lying!” rinda shook her head, unable to believe what she was hearing.

Glenn continued, “The baby was innocent, so I agreed she could keep it, and I would take on the responsibility. But she demanded eight percent of my family’s shares for herself and the child.”

In a family business, shares weren’t just about money; they represented power and status. An eight percent share would mean a substantial annual payout from the business and would make them significant stakeholders.

“I didn’t agree to that. I gave Reyna a lump sum of money, and she said she would terminate the pregnancy. When she showed up again, she was twenty-three weeks pregnant and told me the baby had developed problems and needed a lot of money for treatment and future care.”
