Chapter 1071

    ?Chapter 1071:

As the elevator doors opened, Ellie turned to Kaiden. “Do you want to see the checkup results after theye out?”

Kaiden’s eyes instinctively shifted to Ellie’s pregnant belly. “Of course.” Though his main concern was her health, the checkup results would also reflect the condition of the baby.

When the results came in, the news was better than they had hoped. The baby was developing beautifully, with all indicators pointing to healthy growth. Ellie was so relieved and happy that she almost cried.

Feeling good, her appetite improved as well. She drank the chicken soup Kaiden had brought and found it a bit peculiar. The taste was different from what the head chef at Moon Manor usually prepared. It wasn’t bad, but the cooking skills seemed less refined.

It was puzzling that someone as particr as Kaiden would hire such a subpar cook.

Ellie felt quite full after having the soup that Kaiden offered. The doctor had given her the green light to increase her exercise, so she decided to hop out of the car at the small park outside her neighborhood and walk the rest of the way home.

But the moment she reached the entrance, it felt like stepping into a hurricane of shing lights and shouting voices. Reporters swarmed her from every direction!

“Ellie! Are youpletely blind now? Is there any hope for recovery?”

“Ellie, what happened to your eyes? How did this all start?”

“We’ve heard your eye condition is affecting your baby’s development and that your marriage is in trouble. Is that true? Have you and Kaiden split up?”

May and June quickly positioned themselves in front of Ellie, acting as human shields. There were so many reporters that they feared Ellie might get hurt. Just as they were about to call for help, a group of inclothes bodyguards emerged from the crowd, keeping the reporters at a safe distance.

Baylee noticed one of the bodyguards—he was one of Kaiden’s men. She moved to support Ellie, her expression turning icy.

“It’s the reporters,” she informed Ellie.

Ellie’s sunsses masked her eyes and most of her face, making it hard for anyone to read her emotions. Only her red lips, slightly downturned, hinted at her displeasure.

    L?t?st chαpt?rs ιn g??l??ovе???.????

The reporters kept firing off questions, aggressive and relentless. Ellie was thoroughly annoyed. She knew exactly what these vultures wanted.

She slowly removed her sunsses, revealing her unseeing eyes. The camera shes erupted like a strobe light, momentarily blinding Baylee, while Ellie remained unaffected, a testament to her blindness.

“She really is blind!” one reporter couldn’t help but exim.

“Did you get a good look? Now can you step aside? I want to get home!” Ellie’s voice was steady, carrying an undeniable authority.

“Ellie, has your condition impacted your baby’s health?” a particrly brazen reporter persisted, blocking her path.

Baylee shot the reporter a withering re. “Are you the baby’s father to ask such a question? Who the heck do you think you are?” The male reporter shrank back, clearly intimidated.

Everyone knew who the baby’s father was. No one dared make a scene over it. With their suspicions confirmed, the reporters felt their job was done. They didn’t press Ellie further. She was heavily pregnant, and if anything happened, they didn’t want to be held responsible.

Baylee helped Ellie into the neighborhood, whispering, “Flossie called. She saw Akira around here yesterday afternoon. Akira might have seen you.”
