?Chapter 1055:
Afterpleting the discharge paperwork, Katharine and Baylee apanied Ellie to her house.
Glenn mentioned that he wanted to pick out servants for Ellie himself, but he quietly had Kaiden stay with him.
Glenn crossed his arms, leaned against the wall, and scrutinized Kaiden, making cutting remarks. “Mr. Thorpe, you’re already frowning. You seem to becking mental fortitude.”
Kaiden chose not to engage in conversation with him. If Glenn hadn’t been Ellie’s cousin, he would have walked out by now.
Glenn asked curiously, “What did you do? If it was only a disagreement about the eye treatment, Ellie wouldn’t want a separation.”
“It’s only a short-term separation!” Kaiden hissed.
He hated hearing the word ‘separation.’
Was there really any difference between a separation and a temporary separation?
Without serious effort, the next thing would be divorce!
Glenn shrugged. “Alright, so why the short-term separation then?”
Kaiden shot a look at Glenn, clearly not wanting to talk about it.
Glenn clicked his tongue in irritation. “Kaiden, you’re as stubborn as ever. Why keep your thoughts to yourself? Are you saving them for a special moment or someone else?”
Kaiden couldn’t find the words to respond to this.
He had heard that Glenn was known for disregarding rules and sometimes making remarks that could upset people, yet others couldn’t pinpoint where Glenn had erred.
Today, he had seen it for himself.
“Ellie doesn’t want to go through with the treatment. I even thought about giving her the medicine secretly,” Kaiden said as he finished his cigarette. “This time, the problem with the fetus is my fault.”
Glenn frowned at his exnation.

After a moment, he eased up and didn’t push any further. He asked, “Do you y any musical instruments?”
“No,” Kaiden answered, sounding irritated.
“That’s a shame!” Glenn sighed dramatically. “You look presentable enough. If you could y an instrument to keep Ellie entertained and happy, I might think about letting you look after her. After all, she can’t see you and wouldn’t find you bothersome.”
Kaiden quickly changed his stance. “I can y the piano and the violin.”
It was rare for individuals from wealthy families not to know how to y a musical instrument.
Glenn chuckled. “I thought you might have some pride.”
“This isn’t about pride.”
In Kaiden’s eyes, he could set aside his pride if it meant being with his wife.
Glenn sighed. “If I were in your shoes, I might do the same thing. But Kaiden, women usually have stronger feelings for their babies than men do. Emotions and logic don’t always line up, so I get where Ellie’sing from.”
“You get it?” Kaiden nced at him.
“My ex was once pregnant, but… well, things didn’t turn out well,” Glenn said, avoiding further details about his past. He gave Kaiden’s shoulder a pat. “You only get one shot. Make it count!”
