    rinda stood quietly, her eyes cast down and her thoughts hidden.


    “We’ll go over a few issues in the meeting in half an hour,” Kaiden informed rinda.

    Kaiden left for the meeting. Ellie settled back into the bean bag, read for a while, and felt her eyes strain once more. At times, her vision blurred slightly. Was she overusing her eyestely?

    Ellie blinked groggily. Through the floor-to-ceiling window, dusk painted the sky. “What time is it now?” she asked, her voice thick with sleep.


    Charmed by her sleepy demeanor, Kaiden nted a kiss on her cheek. “It’s nearly 7 o’clock.”


    “Why didn’t you wake me? Glenn must be here already.” Ellie got up quickly.


    “Easy,” Kaiden said, moving to support her. “Glenn said not to disturb your rest.” Glenn had brought more gifts for Ellie and her unborn child.


    As Ellie held a significant stake in the Lambert family, Glenn briefly mentioned histest projects in Critport.


    “You are working with the Hill family?” Ellie was taken aback. “To my knowledge, the Lambert family never had any prior business with them.”


    Glenn exined, “It’s something new. Marvin offered us very favorable terms. After the Hill family ended their deal with the Rollins, there were openings that aligned well for us.”


    Seeing Ellie’s concerned expression, Glenn asked, “Is there a problem, Ellie? If you’re notfortable partnering with the Hill family, I can cancel it.”


    When it came to indulging his sister, Glenn spared no expense.


    “No,” Ellie replied firmly, shaking her head. She might have personal issues with Marvin, but she wouldn’t let that affect business rtions between thepanies. Regardless of the business benefits Marvin offered to the Lambert family, Ellie wouldn’t support him in personal rtionship matters.


    During dinner, Glenn took a break and headed to the restroom. On his way back, he came across a woman. She had delicate features and a graceful figure, reminding him strongly of someone from his past.

    “Do you know me, sir?” rinda asked, puzzled.
