?Chapter 977:
“This tastes like the noodles they make in Jairta. Are you from there too?” Levy asked.
“Yes.”
Flossie and Levy hailed from the same town. They had attended the same school and lived on the same street. Unfortunately, Levy didn’t recall this.
Flossie’s smile faded when Levy didn’t recognize these shared connections.
After finishing the noodles, Levy didn’t linger. Flossie escorted him to the door.
“Thank you for helping me outst time,” she said.
Levy nodded. “I’ll consider this bowl of noodles as your thank-you gift.”
As soon as the door closed, Flossie leaned against the wall and let out a sigh of relief. She couldn’t understand why her heart had raced while Levy was there just now. She had resolved to move on from Levy; her rational side warned her not to get too close. Yet, her emotions were conflicted. One part of her was excited, while the other tried to reason with her.
“Woof!” Coal Ball looked up at Flossie curiously. She sat beside Coal Ball and stroked its head.
“Coal Ball, why was he acting this way, huh?”
“Woof.”
“Did he approach me because he thought I was special? Will I be different in his love life? If that’s the case, could you just bark, please?” Coal Ball kept its mouth shut. Flossie was speechless.
Levy came back home and nced out at Flossie’s balcony. The living room light was on, but there was no one in sight. Flossie was likely ying with the dog.
The Thorpe family sent a message: Brisa’s bone marrow transnt went well, but she had to stay in the hospital for observation.
Ellie ran into rinda again at the GT Group. When Ellie spotted rinda, she was surprised.
“Mrs. Thorpe, I’vee to deliver some materials to Mr. Thorpe,” rinda said to Ellie. “Are you here to see Mr. Thorpe too?”
Your next adventure is at g al n ovels . con
“Yes.”
So Ellie and rinda entered Kaiden’s office together. rinda didn’t stay long; she left after dropping off the materials.
“Did you use scented candles in your office?” Ellie asked, settling onto the sofa.
“No,” Kaiden replied. He didn’t use scented candles. Since Ellie got pregnant, he avoided them even more. He sniffed. “I don’t smell anything.”
When Ellie took a careful sniff, she couldn’t smell anything either. She just furrowed her brow in confusion.
“Aren’t you curious why rinda’s here?” Kaiden inquired.
“Because she donated bone marrow to your mom? Is this your way of thanking her?”
Kaiden walked over and gave Ellie a kiss on the corner of her mouth. “You’re so clever.”
Just as Ellie was about to reply, her phone rang. It was Baylee calling.
“Hello, Baylee.”
After Ellie spoke, the phone fell silent. The silence was heavy with an indescribable sense of gloom and sorrow. Ellie quickly sensed something was amiss and sat upright.
“Baylee, are you alright?”
