?Chapter 909:
Talon had already considered this. If someone wanted a dog to obey, they had to hold the leash firmly.
When Jorge learned they had found a matching bone marrow for Brisa, his hands shook with excitement.
“But Dad, I heard Ellie has a problem with Carole and won’t let her return to Critport.”
Talon looked as though he was in a bind. Jorge gave him a stern look, pulled out his phone, and texted, “Inform Kaiden’s wife about my decision and send someone to fetch Carole.” Brisa urgently needed a bone marrow transnt, and Ellie shouldn’t block Carole from returning.
Talon grinned and said, “I’ll have Erick personally fetch Carole.”
Noticing Ellie’s sudden change in expression after the call, Flossie asked with concern, “El, what’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Ellie replied. She quicklyposed herself and texted Kaiden her whereabouts.
“Should I arrange for someone to take you back?” Ellie asked Flossie.
“I’ll just take a taxi,” Flossie replied after a moment of consideration. “Maybe I should stay here with you until your husband arrives.”
Ellie didn’t have the energy for small talk with Flossie. She nodded, and the two of them sat down on a bench by the roadside.
Ellie knew exactly why the servant from the Thorpe family had called her.
The animosity between her and Carole wasmon knowledge. The Thorpe family had not called her to discuss anything but rather to deliver a message.
They were informing her that Carole would soon be returning to help save Brisa.
Kaiden drove over and spotted Ellie sitting on a bench, her gaze fixed downward as the setting sun cast a warm glow over her, making her look exceptionally beautiful in her quiet wait. Seeing this scene melted Kaiden’s heart.
But soon, he noticed something was off about Ellie. Her expression was icy cold, causing Flossie beside her to nce at her with concern.

Ellie was so lost in her thoughts that she didn’t notice Kaiden approaching until Flossie nudged her.
“Here you are,” Ellie said, posing herself.
After ncing at Flossie, Kaiden gestured toward a corner, and instantly, a male bodyguard in in clothes approached.
“Take Miss Yount home,” Kaiden instructed.
“Yes, Mr. Thorpe.”
It was only then that Ellie realized Kaiden had arranged for bodyguards to secretly protect her.
Ellie sat in the passenger seat, unmoving for a long while.
“What’s the matter?”
When Ellie finally snapped out of her thoughts, she saw Kaiden looking at her. Kaiden sighed, leaned over, and secured her seat belt, kissing the corner of her mouth.
