?Chapter 847:
“The person in the ck car is Litzy,” Baylee stated grimly.
At the mention of Litzy, Ellie couldn’t help but clench her fists. She was acutely aware that the collision caused by Litzy’s ck car was no ident—it was deliberate, an attempted murder!
“What about the red sports car?” Ellie recalled the incident vividly. “If it hadn’t rushed out to absorb some of the impact, Kristopher wouldn’t have been able to shield me.” Her unborn child could have been endangered. The baby was too delicate.
Baylee hesitated, her mouth opening and closing without uttering a word.
“You didn’t find out?” Ellie frowned.
Baylee reluctantly spoke the name she had been avoiding. “It’s Carole.”
The car raced towards the hospital. Kaiden was so agitated that he chain-smoked the entire way.
Finally, Bruce ryed the precise information to him. “Mr. Thorpe, Mrs. Thorpe is stable, but…”
Kaiden shot Bruce a cold look as thetter hesitated.
“However, I heard that Carole sustained serious injuries while saving your wife, and… During the car ident, your wife was with Kristopher in the same vehicle. It appears that Kristopher saved her. He’s still in the operating room.”
The cigarette between Kaiden’s fingers warped from the pressure of his grip.
Bruce held his breath, his mind swirling with confusion. What in the world was happening? Why were all these people intertwined in this situation?
The car came to a halt in front of the hospital building. Without hesitation, Kaiden strode inside.
“Where is she?” Kaiden asked.
“Are you referring to…” Bruce began cautiously, “Mrs. Thorpe or Carole?” Kaiden shot Bruce a cold stare.

“Mrs. Thorpe is outside the operating room!” Bruce quickly rified and then promptly located someone to guide them.
Outside the operating room, a heavy silence hung in the air. Suddenly, someone’s footsteps echoed loudly through the corridor. Both Ellie and Baylee assumed it was Kristopher’s family approaching.
They turned around and found Kaiden standing there. Ellie rose from her seat, but before she could fully register his presence, Kaiden was already by her side, enveloping her in his embrace.
“Ellie,” he murmured, his voice tinged with a mix of tenderness and concern, seeking confirmation that she was fine through this hug.
Her throat constricted, and the flood of emotions Ellie had been struggling to contain surged forth once more. In an instant, tears welled up and spilled down her cheeks, unable to be contained any longer.
“Ellie. Ellie. Ellie.”
He called her name repeatedly, as though possessed by some inner turmoil. It seemed that he was determined to keep her in his thoughts constantly, ensuring her safety and well-being for eternity.
