Chapter 843

    ?Chapter 843:

Kristopher’s words intrigued Ellie, who was eager to discover the truth behind her absence from the Lambert family.

But would chatting with Kristopher upset Kaiden?

“Baylee and I are heading downtown. Why don’t you drive us there? We can talk in the car.” Ellie finally decided, determined to give herself a chance to uncover the truth.

Given the sensitive nature of Ellie’s situation, Baylee opted not to ride in the same car as Ellie and Kristopher. If Ellie chose to share her discoveries, Baylee would listenter.

Aware that Ellie was cautious, Kristopher invited one of her bodyguards to apany them in the car, taking the front passenger seat.

The bodyguard proactively inserted cotton wool plugs into his ears and monitored the movements of Ellie and Kristopher in the rearview mirror, prepared for any potential danger to Ellie.

Baylee trailed behind in her own car, following Kristopher’s vehicle.

“Mr. Wright, what’s the reason for this meeting? Let’s cut to the chase.” Ellie broke the silence, her voice firm.

Twirling the beads of his rosary bracelet, Kristopher regarded Ellie and replied,

“What would you like to know? Why don’t you ask first?”

Ellie nodded after a brief pause, gathering her thoughts.

“Mr. Wright, were you already aware of my true identity?” she asked directly, not mincing words.

    “Yes,” Kristopher responded promptly.

“I discovered that my birth information had been tampered with.” Ellie refrained from mentioning the involvement of the Lambert family, “That was my doing.”

“Before my grandmother Cecelia passed away, she revealed that she cared for me at the behest of a man, not much older than me, who was a minor when I was a child.”

“That, too, was me,” Kristopher admitted.

Ellie’s fists clenched involuntarily at this revtion.

Sensing her emotional distress, Kristopher retrieved a water bottle, unscrewed the cap, and handed it to her.

But she didn’t take it. Ellie fixed Kristopher with a gaze filled with questions and defiance.

Before today, she just couldn’t understand Kristopher’s actions.

But now she felt unjustly aggrieved.

The conflicting blend of kindness and malice left her feeling powerless. Ellie liked to analyze things carefully, hoping to untangle theplexities of her rtionship with Kristopher.

Yet, presently, she found herself unable to discern the causal chain of events.

“Kristopher, you’ve been aware for some time that I’m the missing Lambert daughter. Deliberately, you orchestrated false birth information to keep me and the Lambert family apart! If you harbor animosity towards me, why expend so much effort and resources to ensure Cecelia cared for me? Why maintain this facade of benevolence in my life?” she questioned, her tone tinged with frustration.
