Chapter 807

    ?Chapter 807:

Just recently, she had won a prestigious award in jewelry design and had messaged Kaiden to celebrate her sess.

Kaiden hadn’t responded to any of her messages, yet Carole kept sending them.

“Maybe I should reply out of courtesy?” Kaiden looked over at Ellie.

    Ellie’s expression shifted suddenly.

She understood that, from her perspective, contacting Kristopher seemed harmless.

However, she also realized Kaiden might feel differently.

In a way, her situation with Kristopher mirrored Kaiden’s with Carole.

Seeing Ellie’s silent contemtion, Kaiden waited patiently, without pressing her for a response.

After a bit, Ellie reached out and fixed her gaze on Kaiden’s phone.

Kaiden handed it over without any fuss.

Ellie, looking a bit upset, cleared Carole’s messages and handed the phone back without snooping through anything else.

“If I ever decide to meet Kristopher down the line, I’ll let you know, and you’reing with me, deal?”

“Do you really need to see him?” Kaiden still wasn’t thrilled about the idea.

“I first met Kristopher back in elementary school,” Ellie exined. “And then I didn’t see him at all until a few months back, outside the Gordons’ house. We haven’t just met recently.”

Ellie had a hunch that Kristopher might know something about her mysterious background.

At this point, even the usually cool Kaiden was taken aback.

He figured Kristopher might have known Ellie for quite some time, but the revtion that it went back to their childhood caught him off guard.

Ellie mentioned losing touch, yet during that time, Kristopher had collected many photos of her.

He’d been quietly observing her from afar, watching her grow up.

Kaiden couldn’t shake off a feeling of unease and threat, almost as if his prey was being watched by another. It was an unsettling sensation.

After finishing the SAT, Omiros made a beeline back to the e-sports club. That same evening, Ellie and Kaiden received an invitation to join a family dinner at the old house, courtesy of Brisa.

It was an invitation neither Ellie nor Kaiden felt they could decline easily. The Thorpes’ house retained its grandeur, but its solemnity cast a shadow over Ellie’s mood.

“El, Kaiden, please, have a seat!” Brisa, assisting Jorge, called out to them.

Today, she was dressed in a white dress adorned with floral patterns, herplexion glowing and her spirits visibly lifted from her time in the sanatorium, presenting a serene and joyful demeanor.

However, the source of Brisa’s newfound peace and joy left Ellie feeling frustrated.
