?Chapter 801:
Forgoing any pleasantries, he then cut to the chase. “Mr. Thorpe, to be frank, I find you unworthy of my sister.” His tone wasced with scorn.
Kaiden, unfazed by the insult, retorted cleverly, “Your disappointment is of little concern to me. Your opinion doesn’t matter.”
Glenn, unable toe up with aeback, offered a self-mocking smile. “You’re right about that.”
He knew he had no right to interfere in Ellie’s marriage or question her choice of Kaiden as her husband. Glenn’s true purpose for visiting here was his awareness of Ellie’s close rtionship with Kaiden. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have bothered to stop by Kaiden’spany.
After all, considering Ellie’s youth and beauty, should she ever lose interest in Kaiden, she could easily find herself a new partner.
The initial standoff between the men was short-lived. Seated in the reception area, they began amicable discussions on business matters.
Bruce was puzzled by their sudden rapport, wondering how they had reconciled within just a few minutes. He was gued by unanswered questions. He couldn’t make sense of Glenn’s earlierments, noting that Kaiden had shown no particr affection for Glenn’s sister, Carole, despite her long-standing infatuation with him. Moreover, Kaiden, already married, was not in search of a spouse. Bruce pondered these inconsistencies, seeking rity.
“Ourpany is flourishing,” Kaiden dered.
“Are you its proprietor?” Glenn inquired.
Kaiden confirmed with a nod. “Indeed, I am.”
A glimmer of approval shone in Glenn’s eyes.
Katharine admired Kaiden’s business savvy and entrepreneurial sess—qualities she deemedcking in Ellie’s ex-fiancé, Erick. The thought of Ellie being with Erick, a notorious yboy, filled her with dread. She was relieved, knowing Ellie had found a capable and dependable husband.
As the meeting drew to a close, Glenn was on his way out of the office when he suddenly paused and turned, as though a thought had just struck him.

“By the way, are you familiar with Kristopher?” he asked.
Upon hearing the name, a shadow fell over Kaiden’s expression. “Yes, I am.”
Glenn’s concern deepened, his eyebrows knitting together in confusion. “How did my sistere to know Kristopher?”
Kaiden, arms akimbo, cut him off with a hint of impatience. “Why are you so fixated on that?”
Glennid a reassuring hand on his shoulder. “Rx, I’m not about to wee him as my sister’s spouse.”
Katharine, holding back her true thoughts, shed Glenn a warning look, silently pleading with him to drop the subject.
Kaiden was teetering on the edge of anger. The subject was a sore point for him, and if not for the sake of the Lambert family’s prestige, he might have forcefully escorted the Lambert siblings out. His voice wasced with irritation. “She met him several years ago.”
