?Chapter 778:
Ellie, noticing Jorge’s veiled threat toward Kaiden, interjected. “Jorge, are you tired of living?”
Jorge red at Ellie, his breath hitching for a moment.
The butler intervened quickly, assisting him with his breathing. He sternly admonished Ellie, “Mrs. Ellie Thorpe, mind your words!”
Who would have thought that Ellie, usually cheerful and easygoing, would have such a rebellious outburst?
However, Ellie didn’t consider her words rebellious.
In her view, Jorge’s passivity in handling Leo’s death, and the resulting years of public scorn directed at Kaiden, deeply frustrated her. Ellie was fiercely protective. She wasn’t afraid to upset Jorge.
Additionally, they were in a hospital, surrounded by medical professionals and equipment, so there was no need to worry.
“You initially divided the family head and CEO positions between Talon and Kaiden to bnce the power. You knew that when a person has no more use, they’d be vulnerable.” Ellie smiled.
Therefore, she believed it was unlikely that Jorge would actually hand over the CEO position to Talon or Erick.
Jorge’s gaze turned icy.
After a brief pause, Ellie continued, “Jorge, doesn’t your sudden cerebral hemorrhage seem unusual? You’ve always been health-conscious, and your blood pressure was well-controlled. What could have caused this?”
Although Jorge didn’t want to admit it, Ellie’s words hit home. What she said was urate, and even though it stung his ego, he had to acknowledge it deep down.
“You can’t have Joselyn step down from the CEO position,” Kaiden said abruptly. He was a man of few words, speaking only when necessary. After delivering his statement and seeing that Jorge had no furtherments, Kaiden took Ellie’s hand, and together they left.

Kaiden had fulfilled his duty as a son by checking on Jorge. There was nothing more for him to do there.
When Talon and his familyter returned to the ward, they showered Jorge with excessive attention. These actions were obviously calcted, subtly aimed at discrediting Kaiden and pushing their agenda to wrest control from Joselyn.
Jorge knew exactly what they were up to, but he pretended not to. He mulled over Kaiden’s words, realizing that the point Kaiden made made sense.
Joselyn had exceptional abilities. The shareholders might ept her recement by Kaiden, but it would be a different matter if she were reced by Erick or Talon. That could destabilize the group.
Ellie was right too.
When someone has been bedridden for years, their loved ones—especially their children—gradually stop visiting and caring for them. Moreover, Jorge had always thought his illness was an unfortunate ident. But now, the seed of doubt Kaiden nted in his mind refused to fade. He had finally uncovered the truth behind Leo’s death, and now Jorge felt a terrible guilt toward Kaiden.
