?Chapter 748:
“Ellie,” Kaiden stated confidently, “you’re jealous.”
“Kaiden, it seems you no longer want a wife!”
Ellie ended the call abruptly. She followed through with her earlier threat, promptly blocking Kaiden on WhatsApp for three days.
Kaiden, left hanging after the call, attempted to send another message. He got a notification back: “Message was rejected by the recipient.”
He was speechless.
“Your wife is quite adorable. I always heard Miss Gordon was dignified and reserved. It seems rumors can be deceiving,” Joselyn remarked, ncing pointedly at Kaiden’s legs.
Indeed, how unreliable were rumors?
Even Kaiden’s supposed disability was a pretense.
Kaiden remained silent, but his expression spoke volumes, seemingly conveying that his wife was truly adorable.
“I can return and take over the Thorpe family affairs to repay Leo for his care,” Joselyn proposed, shifting the conversation to a more serious tone. “But you need to consider how to handle your mother.”
Joselyn, already holding a Ph.D. in finance and working as an associate professor at the University of Livbon’s School of Economics and Management, found managing apany to be a rtively simple task.
However, Brisa was Kaiden’s only weakness. Once Joselyn returned, the Thorpe family dynamics would undoubtedly shift. There was no way to guarantee that Talon and others wouldn’t target Brisa.
“I’ll take care of it,” Kaiden said simply.
Joselyn simply nodded, not asking further questions.
While she didn’t have strong feelings for her half-brother, her decision to return and help him was entirely because of Leo.

During her postpartum period, Joselyn’s mother, who had been a secretary to their father, had faced relentless hostility from Talon’s mother. This contributed to her illness, ultimately leading to her death within a few years. As an outsider within the Thorpe family, Joselyn owed much of her childhood protection to Leo.
“Miss Lambert’s birthday party is today. When will you be sending your gift?” Joselyn had also received an invitation from Carole.
“This was prepared by my brother before he passed away. It’s hisst gift to her,” Kaiden exined, presenting an exquisitely wrapped box containing a ruby the size of a pigeon’s egg. “Please deliver it on my behalf.”
“Of course,” Joselyn replied, surprised. “Wouldn’t you like to give it to her yourself? Miss Lambert might be disappointed.”
Kaiden met her gaze, his expression unreadable. Realizing she had misspoken, Joselyn quickly added, “You were always kind to her. I just thought… maybe you might marry her.”
“That’s out of the question.”
The idea had never even crossed his mind.
