    “Do you not like me, Ellie?” His face was nk when he asked this, but his tone held a hint of menace.


    “In what world is that even possible?” Ellie stered a smile on her face and patted his cheek. “I was just hoping that you would work hard and earn even more money.”


    She liked him, all right, but his recent antics were irritating her!


    She was happy to have him by her side, of course, but it was affecting her job, and not in a good way!


    Even her most diligent students, who used to ask her about the lectures in the ten minutes between sses, had resorted to asking her about inane gossip revolving around her rtionship with the esteemed Mr. Thorpe.


    Kaiden palmed her nape and caressed her throat with his thumb. “I’m flying to Annd tomorrow.”


    “So suddenly? Are you going on a business trip?” Ellie sat up straight, her eyes going wide.


    “Didn’t you say you want me to work hard?” Kaiden ced his other hand on her belly and chuckled. “Don’t worry, I’ll make a lot of money, so we can buy all the milk form our baby would need.”


    She pped his hand away and huffed. “Where do you think you’re touching? I’m not pregnant!”


    The next thing she knew, Kaiden was holding her waist with one hand and lifting her thigh with the other.


    And then she was straddling him, her lower back pressed against the desk. She could feel his hard bulge pressing against her crotch.


    “Shall I work on making you pregnant, then?”


    His tone was joking, but Ellie had the vague sense he was gauging her reaction to the prospect. She blinked at him. “You want a baby?”

    Kaiden raised his eyebrows.


    Ellie didn’t know what to say at first, but then she remembered how he liked calling her “baby” whenever they made out.


    “It doesn’t seem like you want kids, though,” she muttered under her breath. After all, Kaiden was an impatient man.


    “You’re right, I don’t like kids,” he said, kissing the curve of her neck and slipping his hands under her clothes. “But I will definitely love the children you give me.”


    One good thing about their small house was that the bedroom was just a few steps down the hall from the study.


    Ellie was surprised that Kaiden would take the effort to bring her back to the bedroom. Wasn’t he fond of the excitement that came with doing it outside the bedroom?


    It wasn’t until she saw him open the nightstand drawer and take out all the condoms inside that she understood.


    “You…” Her hand shot out to stop him. “Fine, just for today, I will give you the privilege of skipping the rubber.”
