Chapter 695

    ?Chapter 695:

With Ellie now Mrs. Thorpe and her friendship with Baylee well-known, people would have to tread carefully around her feelings for Baylee.

As they neared the gates of Moon Manor, their driver slowed down and announced, “Sir, Madam, it seems Mr. Gordon and Miss Gordon are waiting for you ahead.”

Peering out, Ellie spotted Houston looking both hopeful and awkward by the porch, with Demi standing defiantly by him, looking like she’d survived a battle, but her eyes betrayed deep animosity and envy the moment they met Ellie’s.

“Should we go meet them?” Kaiden asked Ellie.

They could easily bypass this encounter and head straight into the manor.

After a slight hesitation, Ellie made up her mind. “Yes, let’s meet them.”

“Ellie, Kaiden…” Houston, all excited, pped his hands together, itching to greet Kaiden with a handshake.

Yet, catching sight of Kaiden’s cool and detached look, he hesitantly pulled his hand back.

“Ellie, your sister was tricked into bad-mouthing you online recently. She’s here now to make things right and apologize,” Houston said as he gently tapped Demi on her shoulder.

Upon feeling the touch, Demi couldn’t help but shiver, her eyes betraying her fear of Houston.

Ellie’s gaze fell on the concealed green marks under the long sleeves of Demi’s shirt. It was clear she had been subjected to physical abuse.

“Come on, speak,” Houston said, noticing Demi’s silence. His voice was firm.

Demi’s body shook as she stammered, “I’m sorry!”

“I need a moment alone with Demi,” Ellie said.

Demi looked up, taken aback by the request.

Kaiden, worried, grabbed Ellie’s hand tightly.

“Don’t worry. When ites to strength, I’m more than a match for Demi,” Ellie reassured him with a smile.

Kaiden signaled to the security team. Promptly, they approached with a handheld metal detector, scanned Demi for any hidden weapons, and upon finding none, nodded towards Kaiden.

“Alright.” Kaiden released Ellie’s hand and said, “I’ll stay right here, waiting for you.”

His final words were also meant for Demi.

Not too far off was a bench. Ellie made her way over and took a seat.

“What’s there to talk about? Are you here to tease me? Or do you expect me to say sorry to everyone through the press? No way. I’d choose death over giving you that satisfaction,” Demi said with a sneer.

“I really don’t care about what people think, and your apology means nothing to me,” Ellie said, looking down at her wrist. “Do you think you can stand firm if Houston goes after you again? If you were truly unyielding, you wouldn’t havee here today.”
