Chapter 693

    ?Chapter 693:

Baylee faced Ellie, shocked. “Come on! That’s not the case. There are no intimate activities between me and Marvin!”

Ellie quickly changed the subject as the flight attendant handed them two sses of juice and some cake slices.

Baylee tasted a macaron, found it overly sweet, and stopped Ellie before she could grab one herself. “Marvin confessed his love for me again. I said I’d think about it,” Baylee whispered.

    “Oh, I see.”

“You seem too calm, don’t you think?” Baylee frowned.

Ellie’s reaction was surprisingly nonchnt for a best friend hearing such interesting news. She looked at Baylee. “You’ve given Marvin that same answer before. Haven’t you ever thought about changing the way you let him down? I think he actually did a good job this time.”

Baylee suddenly realized that she was the viin here.

Before Ellie could say more about it, her attention shifted to the fallout from the variety show. Because of the shocking revtions about Ellie, numerous reporters were camped out at the airport, hoping to catch Ellie and Kaiden, who never appeared.

“At least we didn’t leave with the crew,” Baylee looked on the bright side.

“They’ll likely target Demi next,” Ellie spected. “It’s strange there hasn’t been any follow-up about Demi.”

At the Gordon house, Houston yanked the curtains aside, spotting two paparazzi lurking in the bushes. He quickly dialed the estate’s management to have them escorted off the premises.

This ordeal had stretched over three days, with reporters crowding the vicinity until the estate’s security stepped in, although a few still managed to slip through.

“Demi, look at the chaos you’ve stirred up!” Houston, in a burst of anger, hurled a cup in the direction of his daughter, who sat on the couch, deep in thought.

“Demi!” Litzy, reacting swiftly, moved to protect Demi. “Houston! She’s your biological daughter!”

“And that gives her the right to bring trouble upon us?” Houston fumed. “My house has turned into a spectacle, flooded with reporters. I’ve even lost several business deals because partners are worried about upsetting Kaiden. Can you grasp the magnitude of our losses?”

“I only told the truth! It’s those schemers who are spreading lies about Ellie!” Demi retorted, standing her ground. She felt unjustly used by the relentless media, who twisted her words and maligned her connection with Ellie, aiming to smear her name further. The media and the public were easily deceived by lies!

Enraged, Houston stormed over to Demi. He delivered a sharp p to her.

“Demi!” Litzy shouted, stepping in to help. Houston, unrelenting, struck Litzy as well. Both the mother and daughter were in shock, their faces bearing identical red marks from the ps, unable to believe that Houston had hit them.

Houston warned, “Litzy, if you keep defending your daughter, who keeps causing losses, you might as well move back to your parents’ house!” Then he turned to Demi and yelled, “And you, apologize to Ellie right now!”
