    Kaiden tightened his grip on the pen, nearly breaking it.


    “Just reach out if you need help,” he insisted, refusing to admit it.


    “Baylee is also part of the program. If anythinges up, we can handle it together,” Ellie said, a sly smile ying on her lips.


    When Baylee was suddenly mentioned, Kaiden looked at Ellie in confusion.


    “Baylee is there too?” Kaiden asked with a frown.


    He sounded like he was talking about a love rival.


    Ellie smiled and replied, “Yes! If all you want is a daily call, that’s fine.”


    “You are doing this on purpose.” Kaiden saw through her teasing and gritted his teeth.


    She understood what he was getting at!


    “Why would I do that on purpose?” Ellie refused to admit guilt. “If you want a daily call, just say the word. As your wife, I’m here to fulfill your wishes.”


    The catch was he needed to be more direct.


    A brief silence lingered on the phone.


    For some reason, Ellie felt a twinge of nervousness.


    She understood Kaiden well. Despite his affectionate banter in bed, he was, in reality, a man of pride.


    He didn’t want to explicitly make such a request, so he used this minor matter as an excuse.


    She was determined to make him admit it!


    Ellie half-expected him to drop the topic.


    But then he sighed, seemingly yielding. “Fine, I’ll eagerly await Mrs. Thorpe’s call every day.”


    A satisfied smile yed on her lips as Ellie replied, “Alright, I’ll make sure to keep you satisfied!” With that, she hung up the phone.

    Trying to contain her smile, Ellie patted her face. Despite her efforts, the twinkle in her eyes betrayed her true feelings.


    “You are dangerously close to announcing to the world that you are head over heels in love,” Baylee teased.


    When Ellie nced around, she saw a few staff members discreetly looking at her.


    Before she could react, a group of people approached from a distance. When Ellie and Baylee recognized those faces, the smiles on their faces faded.


    “Hello, everyone! I’m Carole. It’s a pleasure to meet you!”


    Carole was dressed in a striking white gown and adorned with an eye-catching sapphire ne she had designed.
