?Chapter 594:
Kaiden looked down at their hands together and smiled slightly. “I still say, Marvin’s aplicated guy, but at least he’s got what it takes to keep Baylee safe.”
Ellie seemed to understand Kaiden’s reasoning. Since no one could be sure about a man’s loyalty, it was smarter to pick the one with some advantages.
Marvin might not be the most honest, like other men, but he was still a better choice.
“Baylee doesn’t usually find herself in trouble,” Ellie countered, not convinced by his logic. “I’m just afraid Marvin could end up hurting her.”
Kaiden yfully ruffled Ellie’s hair. “Mrs. Thorpe, just because someone loves now doesn’t mean they’ll love forever. It’s too soon to worry about getting hurt.”
Ellie felt a cold shiver as she looked up at him. Was he hinting at something about himself with those words?
“What’s the matter?” Kaiden inquired.
Ellie looked away and replied, “It’s nothing.”
Thinking that she might still be concerned about Baylee, Kaiden offered somefort. “Look, if Marvin is going to all this trouble for Baylee, it’s a good sign. It means she really matters to him.”
Ellie gave a nod of agreement. That guy did “put so much effort.” Not every man would stay at a girl’s house for a month. And the idea of sending underwear was even more absurd!
Then, Kaiden noticed something on Ellie’s screen with a bold heading: “Invitation—’Workce Diary.''”
“This season, it’s a professional variety show about fashion, and I’ve decided to go for it,” Ellie shared.
The show was quite specialized, cking the mass appeal of mainstream entertainment or romantic reality shows. Its influence on everyday life seemed minor. Charlie, one of the show’s supervisors this season, had a favor returned by Ellie. Given that Critport University was also backing the show, Ellie felt a sense of duty to join.
“A live show?” Kaiden asked.

“It means everything the camera sees is shown on TV right away.”
Kaiden’s expression turned serious upon hearing her. “Ellie, do you really think I don’t understand what ‘live’ means?” He wondered if she really thought of him as that out of touch.
Ellieughed nervously. “Of course not. If you didn’t know about Twitter before, it would make sense you wouldn’t know about live broadcasts either, right?”
Kaiden gave a disbelieving snort, clearly not convinced by her exnation. He was pondering over the term “live” and the unpredictable nature of such broadcasts…
“The production team wants to start with home footage. I’m thinking of using my apartment for it.” This part would be recorded in advance as part of the introduction.
“This is your home.” Kaiden rejected the idea immediately.
“They’ll be bringing in a lot of people, with four cameras for different angles. Are you really okay with letting them into your ce?”
“Can this ce handle that many people?”
