    Quincy caught sight of Baylee standing before him, momentarily lost in thought. It had been ages since he was this near to Baylee. She seemed much slimmer, and the youthful vibrancy she once had was gone. Now, there was an enchanting depth in her eyes.


    “Baylee, is it so hard for you to show a little respect?” Aphrodite said, unable to hide her irritation.


    “And when Mr. Rollins meddled with Baylee’s auction, was he familiar with the concept of respect?” Ellie shot back.


    The atmosphere was tense, ready to ignite at any moment. A flicker of shame and regret passed over Quincy’s face. He had hoped… hoped that this would bring Baylee to confront him in private. Hoping she would seek him out meant hoping for a connection. Yet, she didn’t. Baylee didn’t even give him a second nce. To her, he was just another face in the crowd.


    Kaiden yed with the ck card Ellie had handed back, ignoring her harsh words at Quincy and Aphrodite.


    Everyone was too shocked to speak. Not just because of the significant amount Ellie had casually disyed, but also due to the exquisite pink diamond ring adorning her right ring finger as she signed the check. And there was a matching ring on Kaiden’s left hand!


    “Miss Gordon, that ring… It’s beautiful.” The person who spoke wanted to ask if it was indeed a wedding ring with Kaiden, but hesitated. If it wasn’t, things could get quite awkward.


    Before Ellie could answer, Kaiden said, “Thank you, Mr. Lee, I appreciate yourpliment.” These words left much unsaid.


    “Mr. Thorpe, have your legs healedpletely? That’s wonderful news!” another person cut in, his eyes darting between Ellie and Kaiden’s intertwined hands.


    Kaiden answered with a smile, “All thanks to my wife.” Hearing that, Ellie was confused. What had she contributed? How was she involved?


    Kaiden’s mention of “my wife” caught the attention of others. He finally acknowledged his rtionship with Ellie! It was loud and clear for all to hear! They were a married couple! Ellie was Kaiden’s wife!

    Just as the crowd was processing this, the waiter who had Ellie’s check returned.


    “Miss Gordon, the charge for your purchases has been settled by our boss. We appreciate your trust in our auction house,” he said, handing back her check.


    “Your boss, Mr. Hopkins, is not familiar with my wife,” Kaiden said, his brow furrowed.


    The waiter corrected him and said, “Actually, Mr. Hopkins isn’t our boss anymore; the auction house weed a new boss just yesterday.”


    “Who is the new boss?” Ellie asked, visibly baffled. Who would part with hundreds of millions of dors, which was not a small amount?


    The waiter answered, “I haven’t met him.”


    “I’m unfamiliar with him. If yourpany declines my check, I’d rather not take the auction items,” Ellie said.


    Ellie’s refusal seemed to have been anticipated by the waiter.
