Chapter 500:
“I have a wife, and I don’t…”
“Cheat,” Kaiden told her straightforwardly. With these words, he turned and walked away, leaving the girl standing there in shock.
A young, handsome guy like this was already married?
But so what? She was only trying to strike up a conversation, not suggesting that he cheat on his wife with her!
Kaiden suddenly stopped in his tracks as he moved forward. “Bruce, go purchase another cup of milk tea,” he instructed, remembering that Baylee was currently living with Ellie.
However, he had no intention of personally acquiring Baylee’s portion. Bruce knew the reason behind Kaiden’smand and responded with a nod. “Sure.”
Owing to Bruce’s recent hard work, Kaiden had doubled his quarterly bonus. Bruce thought of using the bonus to invest in two milk tea shops. It would be a fitting gesture for Ellie.
Ten minutester, Kaiden, holding two cups of milk tea, encountered the middle-aged dormitory manager during the registration process. The manager scrutinized the information Kaiden provided and asked with suspicion, “Are you here for Miss Gordon?”
“Yes.”
“You’re the one!” The manager abruptly seized the registration book, obstructing Kaiden frompleting the process.
“Leave! Miss Gordon is a female student, and you, being a man, are not allowed to enter and see her.”
Yesterday, he visited Ellie without any hindrance, but today, it appeared to be impossible.
Kaiden promptly sensed the peculiarity in the manager’s statements.
“You recognize me?”
“Of course, you’re the big shot trying to harass Miss Gordon, aren’t you?” The manager eyed Kaiden suspiciously. “You’re all dressed up and appearing so respectable, but I bet you’re up to no good. Young folks these days are learning all the wrong things.”
Kaiden felt bewildered.

The manager’s words seemed iprehensible to him.
He was the big shot, and Ellie was indeed his intended contact—that much was urate. But sexual harassment?
“I’m married,” he rified. There was no question of harassment.
The manager was incensed upon hearing this.
He hissed, “Married and still lusting after our Critport University’s prized gem? Get out! You scoundrel!”
Kaiden sensed that the manager was a bit unhinged.
Given the manager’s apparent familiarity with and protective stance toward Ellie, Kaiden summoned his rarely exercised patience.
“Ellie is my wife!” he dered, looking stern.
“Young man, are you delusional? Miss Gordon, a young woman in her early twenties, married? Leave immediately, or I’ll call security!”
Kaiden, clenching his teeth, had never felt so at a loss for words.
Out of respect for Ellie’s alma mater, he refrained from barging in. Instead, he dialed Ellie’s number, attempting to establish that he wasn’t acting out of fantasy. After all, he was Ellie’s husband.
