?Chapter 479:
“Fine, let’s just do it standing, then!” he said, not totally opposed to the option.
Ellie was usually against this position. She didn’t like the fact that she would have to cling to him the entire time—it put herpletely at his mercy. She opened her mouth to refuse, but it was toote. Kaiden had already gotten to work.
Later, when they were both spent and she was drifting in and out of consciousness, she heard him whisper, “Ellie,e home, will you?”
The Security Office
“Mr. Hill,” a guard poked his head through the door and called out. “Your guardian is here.”
Marvin looked up and met Baylee’s gaze. His aloof expression instantly gave way to an aggrieved one. In the blink of an eye, he changed from arge, menacing guard dog to arge, abandoned wet dog.
Baylee looked around. Marvin was settled on the sofa with a steaming cup of tea in front of him. He seemed to be getting quite the treatment here. She nced at him once and immediately looked away.
She thanked the security guard and waved Marvin over. “Let’s go.”
But Marvin didn’t budge. He just sat there and asked, “Who are you to me? My elders said that I have a bad brain, so I shouldn’t just go with anyone.”
He put up a stubborn front, making it clear he wasn’t leaving with Baylee until she exined herself.
Needless to say, she was dumbfounded.
This man… Was he really so shameless that he would im that his brain was faulty? Here, of all ces?
The security guard hesitated and gave Baylee a wary look.
By all rights, Marvin appeared to be a brilliant and sessful person, but surely, no normal person would dere that they had mental problems outright. Moreover, no person in their right mind would voluntarily stay in the same ce for an entire day.
What if he was on the spectrum? Perhaps his genius was part of his autism or something.
???? ??????? ?? ?????????.???
The security guard’s imagination was running wild with possibilities. “Excuse me, miss. What is your rtionship with Mr. Hill? If he doesn’t recognize you, I’m afraid I can’t let you take him.”
Baylee’s jaw dropped in disbelief.
Someone was actually buying the drivel Marvin was spewing? Meanwhile, the esteemed Marvin himself sat back leisurely, waiting for Baylee to answer the guard.
“I am his sister,” she finally said, a wry look on her face.
That should be enough to allow him to leave with her, right?
“You are not my sister,” Marvin promptly said and shook his head.
He was calling her a liar!
Baylee gritted her teeth in anger, restraining the urge to punch Marvin in the face.
“A good friend,” she bit out afterposing herself. “That’s what I meant.”
“Yeah, girlfriend,” Marvin corrected as he stood up, seemingly ready to go with Baylee.
Baylee fumed. Come on! She had said “good friend,” not “girlfriend”! She opened her mouth to refute him but stopped herself at thest second.
