Chapter 459

    ?Chapter 459:

Ellie’s heart leaped, and she abruptly looked up.

Her beautiful eyes sparkled with uncontained excitement as she lifted her gaze.

However, as she saw the person before her, her expression chilled. The initial joy dimmed rapidly, settling into aposed demeanor.

The man in front of her was not Kaiden.

The young man looked somewhat pale and tired, yet undeniably handsome. He had an air of grace and elegance, with a notably sharp nose that seemed to soften his features while hinting at a hidden intensity.

He resembled a predator lying in wait.

Ellie couldn’t help but notice his style.

He was dressed in a custom-made suit, his cuffs adorned with ck gemstone cufflinks and an exquisite nket draped over his knees. Intriguingly, he wore a strand of small, red sandalwood beads on his left wrist instead of a watch.

His taste was refined and sophisticated.

“Miss, do you need any assistance?” the man asked gently.

“Oh? No, thank you.” Ellie managed a smile, swiftly pushing aside her negative feelings.

Realizing her squatting might appear rather forlorn, she slowly stood up.

But her legs, having been numb from squatting, almost gave way beneath her.

The man swiftly extended his hand, steadying her arm with a grip that didn’t resemble a patient, showcasing his strength and reflexes.

“Thank you,” Ellie expressed her gratitude, regaining her footing and stepping back a little.

“Are your legs… injured? It’s quite a coincidence; my husband also uses a wheelchair.”

The man casually yed with the beads on his wrist.

His lips curled into a slight smile, but his eyescked real happiness.

He noted Ellie’s quick mention of her husband.

“My legs are alright; it’s my heart that’s weak. I need to limit my physical activity,” he exined, his tone softening. “Could you show me the way out? I haven’t visited this vi in a long time and seem to have lost my way.”

To strengthen his credibility, he gestured toward a nearby vi, asserting it belonged to him.

Ellie remembered that particr vi had been empty for years. “I’m on my way out myself; you’re wee to join me,” Ellie suggested.

The man smiled in appreciation and began to follow her in his wheelchair.

“You looked troubled earlier. Something wrong? Oh, I’m Kristopher Wright, by the way.”

“Nice to meet you, Mr. Wright. I’m a Gordon,” Ellie replied, skirting around his question.

As Ellie turned away, Kristopher’s gaze shifted coldly toward the Gordons’ house.

“Miss Gordon, aren’t you going to tell me your first name?” His demeanor remained casual, disarming in its nonchnce.

Ellie gave a resigned smile and said, “It’s Ellie. Ellie Gordon.”

“Ellie, that’s a lovely name,” Kristopherplimented.

“Thank you, Mr. Wright. You have a nice name, too,” Ellie returned thepliment.
