?Chapter 426:
Envy often apanies the inability to attain what one desires. Erick was intent on ending things with Demi, a rtionship he viewed as a farce. Yet, her pregnancy threw a wrench in his ns. She went as far as informing Genesis and Talon directly, eliminating any opportunity he had to address the situation discreetly.
To his relief, his parents were only interested in Demi’s child and had no expectations of him marrying her.
Carole returned from the Thorpes’ house with high hopes of a fiasco at Light’s show, only to be met with news of its smashing sess and a legal notice from Light.
The brand clearly stated that they would no longer work with her, a severe blow to their previous cordial rtions.
Adding insult to injury, she received contract termination notices from several other brands, all a fallout from her abrupt breach with Light. Reporters bombarded her with calls, inquiring about her sudden contract termination.
Fashion magazines and social media usersmbasted her for her actions, in stark contrast to the praise showered on Ellie’s talent.
How could this have happened?
Carole couldn’t wrap her head around how things had spiraled out of control.
She quickly changed her attire and headed to Moon Manor, realizing that involving Ellie directly might be the only way to salvage the situation.
Ellie had been considering her next steps since her coboration with GT Group would soon conclude.
“Madam, there’s someone here to see you,” Cayson said, his face betraying a hint of concern.
“Who is it?”
“It’s Miss Lambert. Do you… know her?”
At that moment, Ellie crossed off the remainingpanies from her potential list, deciding against joining any of them.
She set down her pen, her expression turning frosty. “Yes, I’m familiar with her.”

Ten minutester, Carole was escorted into Moon Manor by a housekeeper.
Although aware of Kaiden’s private estate, Carole had never been here before.
Now, it irked her that another woman had not only entered this space, but had also assumed the role of thedy of the house.
“If you’re looking for Kaiden, he’s not here. Try his office,” Ellie said coolly.
“I came to see you, not Kaiden,” Carole replied, settling herself on the sofa. “Miss Gordon, you didn’t even bother to offer tea? Is this how you receive guests?”
Ellie responded with a nonchnt shrug. “Given that we don’t share a special bond, I don’t really consider you a guest.”
Carole struggled to maintain herposure at Ellie’s remark.
“I need to discuss Light with you,” Carole began. “I understand you were behind the exclusive jewelry. Did you leverage Kaiden’s connections?”
“I thought we were talking about Light?” Ellie raised an eyebrow.
It was a sign of weakness to always seek support from others.
Ellie felt no need to justify her role in the jewelry affair to Carole.
