    “Oh, my memory must’ve failed me. So, tell me—who got angry at me for giving Carole flowers at the airport?”


    Ellie was rendered speechless.

    She awkwardly lowered her head, trying to avoid his gaze, but she couldn’t stop herself from smiling.


    Drawing attention with their striking appearance, the couple became the subject of many side nces. Some even looked as if they were about to approach, perhaps to snap a photo or make small talk.


    Noticing the stares, Ellie quickly pulled Kaiden away. “Are you sure you’re okay without your wheelchair?”


    Kaiden took Ellie’s hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. “Yeah.” Since Ellie had been so concerned about him giving flowers to Carole at the airport, he had decided to stand up and wee his wife back with flowers.


    After all, his wife deserved special treatment. Moreover, after their confrontation at the Critport University café, he no longer wanted to be confined to a wheelchair. In his eyes, the stunning Ellie deserved better than a wheelchair-bound husband.


    Just then, a thought urred to Ellie. “How’d you know about my flight details?”


    “Freddy told me.”


    “You’ve been in contact with him?” Ellie arched her eyebrows in surprise. “You didn’t threaten him, did you?”


    Kaiden pinched Ellie’s cheek and teased, “Ellie, do you think I’m that bad?”


    It was Kaiden who had contacted Freddy, asking him to keep an eye on Ellie in Melona, in case she faced any difficulties she couldn’t handle. Indeed, the two men didn’t see eye to eye—one deeming the other unworthy of his boss, while the other felt the former was too close to his wife. But when it came to Ellie’s safety, the two were united.


    Just as they reached the parking lot, Kaiden’s work phone rang, and he stepped aside to take the call.

    Bruce generously opened the car door for Ellie and greeted her with a big smile. “Congrattions on the sess of the show, Madam!”


    Ellie was pleasantly surprised. “The news reached here so fast?”


    “Not exactly…” Bruce lowered his voice, as though about to share a juicy piece of gossip. “Truth be told, the boss specifically asked me to keep an eye on Light’s show. We were working overtime, and when he found out you were about to y the piano, he even paused a meeting to watch the live broadcast!”


    It turned out that Kaiden had paid such close attention to her while she was away. Ellie’s smile froze as she suddenly realized something. “Wait a second. You watched the live broadcast during the meeting?”


    “Yup! The other executives that were there said you were really good!”


    Ellie’s cheeks flushed bright red with embarrassment. She couldn’t help but cringe as the memory of the GT Group executives catching her in an intimate moment with Kaiden resurfaced, her coquettish voice unintentionally interrupting a video conference.
