?Chapter 407:
The real issue was her abrupt return, awkwardly asking if he was leaving as well.
Had he chosen to stay, perhaps she would be the one upset now.
But Kaiden’s immediate departure, souring Carole’s mood, secretly pleased Ellie. Happy with this oue, she felt inclined to cate him.
As the Phantom rolled to a stop at the main porch of Moon Manor, Kaiden exited the car first, with Ellie following closely behind.
The servants had already opened the door, awaiting the arrival of their master and his wife.
“Kaiden, wait!” Ellie called out.
As Kaiden was about to step inside, Ellie made a sudden move. She grabbed his tie, swiftly pulling him aside and pressing him against the wall.
Kaiden, taken aback by her bold action, was momentarily caught off bnce and then startled to find himself against the wall. In the next instant, as he bent his head due to the pull on his tie, Ellie’s soft lips met his in a gentle, sweet kiss. His eyes widened slightly, a hint of surprise flickering in them.
Ellie noticed a look of shock in the dark depths of Kaiden’s eyes, a reaction she had never seen in him before.
Before she could reflect on this, Kaiden acted. He lifted her by the waist, effortlessly reversing their positions.
Ellie, losing her footing, instinctively clung to him. By the time she realized what had happened, she found herself pinned against the wall, her feet dangling and legs instinctively wrapping around his waist.
At that moment, as her legs coiled around him, Ellie saw Kaiden’s lips curve into a smile. He seemed to be enjoying this, triumphant in his yfulness.
“Kaiden, you tricked me!” she eximed, pushing his face away, her eyes wide with a mix of surprise and mock anger.
But her sultry eyes, slightly reddened at the corners, cked any real threat. She looked more like an alluring, vibrant flower.
Kaiden’s gaze on Ellie was intense and predatory, like a wolf eyeing its prey.

Ellie, recognizing that look, knew exactly what it signified. “You…” she started.
“You have to take responsibility, Mrs. Thorpe,” Kaiden replied. He then carried her upstairs, holding her in a way that resembled carrying a child, a position he imed wouldn’t attract the servants’ attention.
Kaiden knew that being discovered in such a position wouldn’t be embarrassing for him, but it would be for Ellie. She valued her dignity, and the implications of their entrance into the house in such a manner were more obvious than discreet.
To avoid being seen, Ellie kept her face buried in his neck throughout their journey to the bedroom, too shy to look up.
Once inside the bedroom, Kaiden pressed her against the wall again, his impatience showing as he struggled with her jeans. He expressed his frustration with a click of his tongue. “You should have worn a skirt today.”
His audacity to be so particr in that moment made Ellie frown. Before she could protest, however, Kaiden’s kiss silenced her.
The smart air conditioning in the master bedroom had already warmed the room as they entered. Soon, Ellie’s clothes were scattered across the floor, adding vibrant and colorful contrasts to the dark, sophisticated carpet.
